Patsy Sullivan, the teenage daughter of Barry Sullivan (who co-starred with Emmy-winners George C. Scott and Dave Burns in "The Price") picked up the Emmy won by Fielder Cook for directing the TV adaptation of Arthur Miller's play. Scott, who had earlier that year refused an Oscar, did not attend the ceremony and his Emmy for Outstanding Single Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role was picked up by Jack Cassidy, who had lost to him in the category. Scott had directed Cassidy in his own Emmy-nominated performance, in "The Andersonville Trial."
