A crime committed some fifty three years ago, comes to the surface again when the Cold Case unit gets a tip about some particular details concerning the murder of Bingo Zohar, an aspiring performer, and composer, a young man whose talent was making music. Rock and Roll was the craze in the country then. Most people saw it as a threat to good manners, something dangerous for the youth of families with traditional values.

Bingo was brought from his rural home to help at his uncle, Ed Valentine's store in Philadelphia. Bingo composed his own music; his greatest ambition was to be accepted to perform in American Bandstand, the program that was instrumental for launching the career of many hopeful, but unknown performers. Bingo met and befriended a black kid, Aces Brown, that worked in the place, the two came together because the passion they felt about a kind of music few understood.

Scotty has a suspicion someone had 'ratted' him to the Internal Affairs Department about his involvement of a previous shooting in which he killed someone. The detective senses someone from his department has been the one, something that seems preposterous, at best, but which Scotty feels strongly about. He quarrels with Will without reason, but they two settle their differences.

Unfortunately Bingo died in mysterious circumstances. His old girlfriend Miranda, his aunt Mrs. Valentine, his cousin JP, and the detective that covered the case, are questioned again. In reconstructing the crime the old store is revisited. The old recording booth reveals where Bingo was shot and the perpetrator, as well.

Chris Fisher directed this installment of the series. Kate Purdy wrote the screenplay. Besides the regulars, James Snyder made an impression for his take on Bingo. Same goes for Danielle Bisutti and Jennifer Rhodes. Diana Douglas, who is Michael Douglas' mother, is seen as the present Mrs. Valentine, in a rare appearance.
