In the final scene, Dean's "son of a bitch" line was ad-libbed. You can see Jared break character and laugh.
This is the first time Bobby calls the boys "idjits"
The title comes from a 1955 film about a mysterious stranger who arrives in a small town in search of someone and ends up changing life in the town forever.
Sam wears the same jacket he was wearing when he was stabbed by Jake Talley.
The storage unit that was robbed was rented under the name Edgar Cayce. Edgar Cayce was a famous American psychic and was known as the "Sleeping Prophet" because he supposedly had the ability to put himself in a sleep-like trance before he gave a reading.
The entire episode is about luck. If you look closely in the thugs apartment, there is an upside down horseshoe above the door. Horseshoes are an international symbol of luck. If the horseshoe is right side up, it collects good luck. If the horseshoe is upside down, it lets all the good luck out and invites bad luck.
Wayne and Grossman are playing poker as Sam and Dean are sneaking into the apartment to get the rabbit's foot. Wayne gets four kings, and later on says he got two royal flushes in eight hands. The odds of getting a royal flush are 649,740:1, four of a kind 4,165:1.
The character Bela Talbot/Lagosi was named after Hungarian actor Bela Lugosi who starred in several horror movies from the 1920s/30s such as Dracula (1931) and Bride of the Monster (1955).
This is the first of several instances where the made-up diner named "Bigerson's" is used.
Kubrick drives (and lives in) an RV. On the rear left side it has three stickers: "How would Jesus drive?", "Don't make me come down there - God", and "Bethlehem or Bust".
When Kubrick tells Sam, "I'm on a mission from God," he is quoting The Blues Brothers (1980).

As they prepare to burn the rabbit's foot, Dean says, "Say goodbye, wascally wabbit." He is quoting Elmer Fudd from the classic TV cartoon "Looney Tunes" (1930-1969).

Towards the end of the episode, Dean throws a remote control at one of the men holding Sam, hitting him in the face and knocking him unconscious. Dean then says "I'm Batman." Jensen Ackles voiced the character Red Hood in the movie Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010).
The person holding the Rabbits foot is supposed to have incredibly good luck, yet while Sam has the foot in his possession he is pickpocketed by Bela and the foot is taken.
