Yogendra Yuvvraaj Singh lives a wealthy lifestyle along with 3 sons, Gyanesh - who is mentally unstable; Deven - a bully and slacker; and Danny - a Casanova. While he does tolerate Danny, he asks Deven to leave when the later assaults Gyanesh. Deven re-locates to Austria, meets with Anushka Banton, and both fall in love much to the chagrin of her dad, Dr. P.K. Banton, who wants her to wed, Daniel Mehta. When Yogendra suddenly passes away, Deven returns home to find that the household is run by his maternal uncle, Om Prakash, and his family. The family will soon find out through Advocate Sikander Mirza that the majority of the wealth and estate will be inherited by Gyanesh -leading to a conspiracy between both Deven and Danny - to try and befriend Gyanesh, and then compel him to share the estate equally between the three. Initially, Subhash Ghai planned to cast Aamir Khan in the role of Deven, Shah Rukh Khan in the role of Gyanesh and Salman Khan in the role of Danny. Aamir and Shah Rukh rejected both of the roles offered to them. Then it was decided to move Salman Khan into the role of Deven, and cast Akshay Kumar in the role of Gyanesh and Saif Ali Khan in the role of Danny, but after Akshay and Saif rejected those roles too, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan replaced them. Ludicrous dialog, incoherent plot line and horrible acting!
This was an absolute disaster, and almost painful to sit through. The only thing the film has going for it are fabulous European locations and grand sets. Otherwise, bad acting abounds, with the main culprits being Salman and Katrina. Some of the dialog is ludicrous ("a hard-core anti-family man!!"), and unfortunately uttered with a straight face. Boman Irani is wasted in a clichéd role. Anil Kapoor has some energy but is sidelined for long periods of time. The plot line is incoherent and makes little sense. Quite frankly, the film is a complete waste of time.
