When a woman that has been on a coma for eighteen years finally dies, the Cold Case unit becomes involved because there are strange circumstances surrounding her death. First, there have been no explanation for the flowers, and gifts, this woman has received from an anonymous source all the years she was at the hospital. Then, not all that they find rings true.

The breast implants that have been found in the dead woman's body, lead the detectives to contact the doctor who performed on the comatose lady, being a special kind used by a few at the time. He identifies the dead woman and places her to a situation at an exclusive club that he witnessed. He knew a few cases where rich women had fallen victim to a con man that robbed them of thousand of dollars.

When they stage a fake obituary in the paper, the Cold Case unit goes to the cemetery where they expect someone will turn out to visit the grave of the dead woman. They are lucky in that, as planned, a man, Spencer Mason, comes to the site, bringing flowers. He will be the person that will help solve the puzzle that has eluded the police all those years.

This segment was directed by Holly Dale, a regular for the series. It was written by Christopher Silber. It has some interesting aspects because of the way a victim being also involved in the actual crime. Scotty and A.D.A. Alexandra Thomas have a few words because he feels she has ratted on him to Internal Affairs, but he can't keep his hands away from her.

Daphne Ashbrook, Jamie Rose, Rodney Rowland, are seen among the guest stars. The regulars, Kathryn Morris, Danny Pinto, and Bonnie Root have also good opportunities in which to shine.
