Very cute but I am surprised about the while-male dominated cast
timhoustontx12 September 2009
My daughter (almost 3) enjoys it but doesn't really get most of it.

The music -- sometimes it reminds me of the B52's -- anyone know why?? In any case, the stories are kind of cute but not particularly meaningful. And Nina is the cutest, although somewhat passive and muted while the 4 white guys jump around and do stuff.

I'm not overly "PC" but somehow would like to see more balance...not a token minority role just real diversity. I know parts of America are still mostly White, but where I grew up had lots of Native Americans. Where I live and work now, the Whites are no longer the majority but there are very many Latinos, Blacks, Indians, East Asians, etc. And, maybe more important, increasing numbers of MIXED, ethnically ambiguous people. How did this modern show get away with being all white except the cute semi-Hawaiian secretary girl?

Finally, a kid's show that you can stand to watch!
godsmackgrl138 January 2009
When I had first heard that they were making a whole show out of the Imagination Mover shorts on Disney, I was so excited. My daughter is only 18 months old, but whenever the Movers come on, she is up on her feet and dancing...and I usually get up and dance with her.

The best thing about the Imagination Movers, is by far the music. It reminds me of the popular music from when I was a kid, and it is not annoying for parents at all. I used to cringe with other kid shows, because the music was just so darned annoying, but with the Movers, I'll even sing along. Heck, I've found myself singing the songs while I am cleaning my house during the day.

If you have kids that are in the 1-7 year old range, then I definitely recommend this show for them. The movers are all very high energy and fun. The songs they sing will have your kids up out of their seats and dancing along. The fact that the music will sound good for you as well is a plus. The show will also help inspire your children to help fix problems using their own initiative, and some of the episodes have important life lessons as well; like taking responsibility for your own actions.

All-in-all, this is a wonderful show. In my opinion, it is the best kids show available right now.

Imagination Movers think of creative ways to solve "Idea Emergencies" in their idea warehouse while playing fun, upbeat music.
kari-12117 September 2008
My daughter and my niece are both absolutely OBSESSED with the Imagination Movers! They love this show! I've actually started recording the episodes when it's on TV because my daughter doesn't want to watch anything else. I like the fact that the movers play decent, upbeat music that I don't get totally sick of after hearing it over and over. They also encourage kids to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to their problems. Yes, they act a little silly, but that's part of what makes the show so fun. If you're looking for a fun kids show that doesn't drive you absolutely nuts this is the one.

The Best...We can't wait for more...They are #1
meredito14 November 2008
My son LOVES this show. He is only two but he can't get enough. I have to record them for him on my DVR so he can watch them later. They are the best...move over wiggles. My son learns so much and loves the music, they are great to watch. The music can be listened to over and over, very modern and fun. You will not be pulling out your hair if you have to listen to it over and over, I even find myself singing along. We can't wait for more..or may be a movie... We would definitely go, more then once. I recommend this over all other, they use their minds to think through problems and come up with different solutions while being funny and entertaining. Thanks Imagination Movers your doing a great job we can't wait for more.

Great Show!!
a-greco122819 December 2008
I have a four year old sister and twin 1 1/2 sisters that completely adore this show. My 4 year old sister just loves to dance to the music and it is also music that I myself can enjoy and that helps me seeing as we are 16 years apart and I find my self having to watch them when I am home. Although they love the show my other siblings that are in Elementary School love the show too. I find that they are always playing "Imagination Movers" and someone has a part and someone in my family will tell them an "Idea Emergency" and they fix it. I think this show is wonderful!!! If you have anyone in your house that is young this show is worth giving a try. I found that once my mom started to record it on our DVR that this is all that they want to watch!!

Imagination Movers
crazymadkiwi22 October 2008
This program is not suitable for the age group it is put out to here in New Zealand. The program is in no way educational and teaches under 5 years old children nothing other than to jump around and behave like a total idiot. Other more educational program's were taken off air for this rubbish. Please take it off NZ sky we don't like it.

This program sends out a message to young children that grown men are OK and that behavior such as theirs is fun. This program does not encourage children to use their brain at all, counting, alphabet and word games are what children should be watching, not four grown men running round a warehouse pretending to be dumb arses. Children need to be shown how to solve problems, but not the problems this show provides. I have a 3 and a half year old and even she thinks it is stupid and misses the other educational programme that was removed.

This is an awful program and I rate it 0/10.

We love this show!
flutemusik22 October 2008
This is the Monkees of the new millennium! I grew up in the 80s and watched their reruns and have loved that group for a long time. When I saw that Imagination Movers were going to be on Playhouse Disney, I decided to give it a shot (for my 8 month old and my almost 2 year old!). The show is terrific! The songs are catchy, the jokes pretty funny, and best of all THEY AREN'T ANNOYING like most other children's shows! I would actually consider going to their show if they came to my town!

They teach great things like brushing your teeth, exercising, and also have creative ways of solving problems. I'm looking forward to the Halloween episode. Disney has been playing a song from it and it's a snappy tune! Even my almost 2 year old sings the words that he can pronounce! "Boom, boom, boom, cha cha cha. Oooh, oooh, ooh, ya ya ya!"

Overacting spoils good creativity.
domesticaecclesia25 February 2009
My 3 year old enjoys the colors and music and dancing on the show. I also enjoy the cleverness of some of the imaginative things on the show, such as the Cold Room.

Personally, I find the actors overact towards the children. It is condescending and I find it treats children more like idiots than like children. My daughter is only 3, but she doesn't need overdone expressions to understand what a character is feeling. Children are much more perceptive than that.

I also object to the use of hip hop in their music. I don't blame anyone who exposes their children to it. But Disney should understand not all parents do. We do not let our children hear hip hop and I will put something else on if it comes on.

Cute show for kids and parents can watch too!
lisalove61124 September 2010
Such a cute show- very entertaining for the little ones and witty enough (at times) for parents to smile. The Imagination Movers teach the kiddies to use their heads to solve problems. If something doesn't work the first time, you should try try try again. The music is original and actually quite good. These guys play many different instruments and take turns singing the catchy tunes. I like that- it shows that no one has to be the "star" and that you can work together to make it work. Parents- if you enjoyed the '60's show The Monkees, the Imagination Movers will remind you of it. The writing and premise is very similar. Good, harmless, goofy fun.

Love brainstorming and problem solving!
srl228 September 2009
My three year old son and five year old daughter love the Imagination Movers. My daughter always laughs because she tries to come up with new ideas to complete tasks like they do. The kids love music and are always creating things and asking me if they sound like the Imagination Movers.. it is hilarious.

I believe that this show is definitely suitable for the Disney Channel here in the United States, we love that there is no commercials and that it is kid centric. My husband and I are very welcome to the program, although the kids are only allowed to watch age appropriate television and they both think Imagination Movers is one of the best.

Way to bring music back to kids programs and show kids it is OK to come up with ideas that could be wrong and it is okay to come up with several ways to solve problems.

Aweseomesauce! :)
carindiller11 February 2011
The Imagination Movers is a truly wonderful children's show! The music gets my kids up and dancing every day! Plus, the stories are fun and interesting.....and even a little bit of sneaky education is thrown in! :) They really do get the imagination going! Both of my children "brainstorm" daily for solutions to their problems! Plus, their music is catchy enough that I find myself listening to their CD's in the van when I'm alone! They are a true example of the American dream....they lost pretty much all they had in Katrina and pursued their dream of the Movers as a way to reach children! If you haven't checked out the Movers yet, what are you waiting for??? Season 3 starts on Valentine's Day 2011!

Fantastic
HornedKing13 December 2008
My little girl is almost two at this time, and she loves singing. She is very interested in learning new words and concepts, too. This show is perfect for her. Its goal is to provide positive male role models on television, as well as to thrill kids with music and action entertainment. It is not as far-out as Captain Kangaroo or as fantasy-filled as Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. It doesn't need to be. It is tailored to suit modern children, kids who need more realistic father figures than what we usually see presented on TV. The Movers don't interact with eight-foot-tall, make-believe dinosaurs, slapstick cats and dogs, or an idiot sponge-person. The puppets on the show are cute and limited to a small amount of screen time. Disney has a hit with this series that seeks to provide a lot of music, a lot of positivity, and a bit of education to boot. It's more grounded in reality than most programs found on children's television these days (for example, "Yo, Gabba Gabba!"), and features a violence-free warehouse in which the Movers can interact with other amusing or pleasant human characters, such as Mr. Knit Knots and Nina. The music featured on the show is strongly reminiscent of '80s and '90s pop rock. I like it, and my wife agrees that the Imagination Movers is just right for our little girl.

The Best Kid Entertainers EVER!
bdurel-974-83412111 February 2011
There is just so much to be said about the Movers. Their great music, fantastic show and genuine gratitude toward their fans speaks high volumes. Living in New Orleans I had heard their music and heard of their group even before I had kids and way before they were on Disney. My son and I fell in love with their show when we discovered it on Playhouse Disney. Their story lines and music keep us entertained and I love the fact that they never, ever talk down to their audience of little ones. Too many television shows talk to kids like they are unperceptive and stupid. Not the Movers. We have also had the great honor of attending several of their live shows. Let me just say that I never leave these shows less than amazed... every time. Bringing my son to their concerts, singing and dancing along together will be memories that I will treasure forever. We even have had the pleasure many times of being able to meet with the Movers themselves. Backstage before and after shows and at their VIP after parties. These guys are truly gracious, kind and genuine to all of their fans, young and, well, I won't say old, but "grown-up". They forever have a fan in me, my husband and our son. We love the Movers!

Real family show.
missy863212 February 2011
I once read in a Mover's interview that one of their goals is to be a role model for young children. In my case, that is true. I am a single mom with two young and rambunctious boys ages six and four. The use of primary colors and music and humor keeps them entertained over and over again. I also enjoy the added adult humor, their tribute to Monty Python in one episode. They teach kids about eating right, sharing, working hard and invention and the use of their minds. When my sons get frustrated, I ask them what the Movers would do. They tell me, "try again, try again, try again." We also tell time in our house by Movers: "it will take one Movers to get there". We have watched other shows and see the fighting and the kissing and all that, even in cartoons (Batman and Spiderman) It is good to watch a show where we all enjoy it and they learn values that will make them better people as they up.

Best in class within this genre
jeramoi-16 January 2011
Excellent engaging show with very positive message of not giving up when problems arise but rather persevering till a resolution is reached. Music is creative, catchy and appeals to both kids and adults(rare for kids shows).

Not sure about the couple of negative reviews; obviously one of them has issues with urban music stylings and needs to grow beyond the close-minded viewpoint of WASPY 1950s ideals. It was quite evident that the other negative reviewer prefers the corny sucrose-flavoured show pioneered by his/her Aussie neighbours.

Long-live the imagination movers show!!!

Love the Movers!
whitneycasey4 April 2011
So happy these guys are making great kids music that is cool for the parents too! We just went to their concert and they are SO talented! They genuinely like kids. They don't have to fake what they do. We love their show and their music and we're so excited that our son loves them. They're not only great entertainers but the nicest people too. They really can't be compared to any other show out there... I haven't met anyone who doesn't like these guys! (until I read the two reviews on this page from someone who doesn't like hip hop, and someone who might not understand north American culture...) but aside from those two people; I think north America loves these guys! Hopefully we will get to see these guys for years to come!

Highly underrated show
jentaulbee30 June 2019
Our girls loved this show and my husband and I could watch it as well. That says a lot! So many kids programs are mind-numbing for adults. The music, the silliness, it's all in good fun!
