"Hurricane Jeannie" turned out to be the very last episode to be shot, concluding Jan 30 1970, yet was broadcast before two others. Rather a shame, because this would have been most appropriate, the network apparently having already cancelled the show by this time. There's a fierce hurricane wind blowing through Cocoa Beach, telephone lines down, electricity out. The storm forces Dr. Bellows and Major Healey to join Tony and Jeannie in the Nelson residence, where Major Nelson must talk down two astronauts in orbit. The doctor is amazed that the Nelson phone is the only one still working, and that dinner has been cooked by an electric stove with no electricity. While Tony stays in contact with the capsule by telephone, Jeannie worries about his lack of sleep, blinking the two astronauts down right in front of an eavesdropping Dr. Bellows. After Jeannie returns the duo back on to the capsule in time for reentry and instantly disappears herself, the doctor demands an explanation from Major Nelson. Caught red handed, Tony finally confesses that he married a genie in a bottle, showing Dr. Bellows highlights of past incidents that had him losing his mind (from "The Mad Home Wrecker," "Jeannie and the Wild Pipchicks," and "U.F.Oh Jeannie"). We even get one last look at our favorite general, Barton MacLane, and a nice testimonial to conclude the episode.
