The Murdoch Identity
Murdoch is in Bristol, England, with no memory of who he is and two gunmen chasing him through the streets. With the help of a local pub Landlady he starts to piece together an assassination plot. In Toronto Detective Hamish Sloack is assigned to help find the missing Murdoch.

The Great Wall
Detective Murdoch is called in by Station 5 to investigate the murder of one of their Constables, found dead in Toronto's China Town. A Chinese shop owner, Feng Choy, is blamed for the crime but Murdoch is very doubtful that the old man is responsible.

Detective Murdoch investigates the theft of a valuable Rembrandt painting. He attended its unveiling at a lavish reception and saw the painting go on the elevator on the 11th floor and go directly to the first floor where Constables Crabtree and Higgins were waiting for it to arrive. When the doors open, all they find is a dead security officer and no sign of the painting or how it might have been removed. Detective Murdoch deals with an interesting assortment of suspects when a circus animal trainer Kitty Walker is found dead, apparently attacked by the tiger in her charge. When the circus tries to leave town hurriedly, Murdoch has them all arrested and the station house is soon filled a variety of exotic characters. Detective Murdoch is on the case when police discover two bodies at a building construction site. Their initial estimate is that the bodies have been there for about 5 years but the remains are found in a peat bog and as a result are very well preserved. Both bodies, one man and one woman, are approximately 40 years old and Dr. Ogden's examination reveals that they were both poisoned with cyanide. Detective Murdoch investigates the suspicious death of Chauncey Beaton who has fallen, or was pushed or jumped, off his balcony. Detective Murdoch investigates a bizarre case when a convicted murderer apparently manages to survive the hangman's noose. When Cecil Fox's body is delivered to Dr. Ogden for a post-mortem, she finds a hollow tube inserted in his throat and Fox very much alive.
