Kristen Stewart to Join Michelle Williams and Laura Dern in Kelly Reichardt's Next Film

2 March 2015 6:59 AM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

I want to like Kelly Reichardt more than I do. She has a firm grasp over the tone and look of her films, but they just never grab me like I think they should. I still need to see her latest film, Night Moves, and maybe that one will change my mind. Regardless if I like her films or not, I am still interested in what she makes, which brings me to the subject of this article. Kristen Stewart has signed up to join Reichardt's next film alongside Michelle Williams and Laura Dern. This may not excite some people, as there is a fairly strong anti-Kristen Stewart group out there, but I am on the side of really liking her. People just need to leave Twilight behind forever in their memories and look to her other stuff. Her performances in things like Adventureland, On the Road, and Still Alice »

Kristen Stewart continues her own path with new Kelly Reichardt film

28 February 2015 1:05 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Did you know that Kristen Stewart made history a week ago? The 24-year-old actress became the first American woman to win a prestigious Cesar Award, France's own version of the Academy Award. She also won it for an English-speaking role.  Think about that for a second.  This honor hasn't been bestowed upon Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Sigourney Weaver, Natalie Portman, Glenn Close, Susan Sarandon or any other globally acclaimed American actress over the past 30 years. No, it was Kristen Stewart who broke the French's reticence to reward anyone but their own.  Stewart, an actress who continues to (mostly) put studio work behind her following a string of acclaimed performance in indie films over the past year.  That career path continues with her next endeavor, the "Untitled Kelly Reichardt Project," In case the name is unfamiliar to you, Reichardt is an acclaimed director whose movies include festival favorites "Night Moves," "Meek's Cutoff" and "Wendy and Lucy. »

Amazon is Producing and Acquiring Movies That Will Play Theaters and Then Stream On Their Own Site

19 January 2015 5:45 PM, PST | | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Until recently, my reason for paying for Amazon Prime was merely about being able to get diapers in two days without having to leave the house. The streaming service attached to that two-day-shipping deal was also good for my kid’s Dora the Explorer addiction, but that’s about it. Then Transparent came along and gave me something to watch “free” on Amazon Instant Video, too. As for movies, though, it’s never been of interest, especially since it hardly ever seems to have anything that Netflix doesn’t also have (by the way, they’ve noticed the concern enough to have a page for “Not on Netflix” offerings, including Under the Skin and Cheap Thrills), and anyway Netflix is a whole lot easier to watch on a mobile device or tablet. Amazon Studios is likely to develop more original series as good as Transparent or good enough, and given that they’ve already secured Woody Allen for »
