Cherry Jones: President Allison Taylor

Quotes

  • Ule Matobo : I know how hard you fought to get the support needed to launch this military operation and I wanted you to know our country will be eternally grateful

President Allison Taylor : Our soldiers are the ones truly deserving of your gratitude: they're the people putting their lives on the line

Ule Matobo : Still, I know your taking a great political risk

President Allison Taylor : I have no reservations: stopping Juma is the right thing to do "but" once his removed from power, it is critical he be dealt with in the court of law and not in a way that will perpetuate this cycle of violence

Ule Matobo : Juma has killed over two hundred thousand of our people including two of my own brothers so no one knows more about the cycle of violence than I do but my countrymen will want to see Juma punished

President Allison Taylor : Then punish him according to the rule of law: that's the only way democracy will work in Sangala: no one is treated "outside the law", not even Juma

Ule Matobo : [Stands up and extends his hand]  you have my word

  • Tim Woods : [Meeting in the Oval Office]  FAA has landed flights so far without incident but these people have proven what they can do at any time and can sabotage air traffic or any of the infrastructure systems we have behind the firewall

President Allison Taylor : Does NSA have a timeframe on "fixing" it so we can keep these people out permanently?

Tim Woods : Madam President the CIP firewall was result of a multiyear project: reengineering the code could take weeks or months. At this point, NSA just doesn't know

President Allison Taylor : Exactly what systems are vulnerable Dr. Cornell?

Dr. Cornell : [Showing her on a monitor]  at the top of the list would be the national power grid. If disabled, we could end up being unable to deliver power to many millions of people: a blackout of that scale would almost certainly result in rioting in major cities. Even more critical, are the water treatment and distribution systems, sabotaging key damns and sewage processing plants, they can contaminate water on a massive scale. Deaths from poisoning would be "substantial" up front, massive casualties would soon follow after as people begin to die from dehydration

Ethan Kanin : Is there any way to protect these systems?

Dr. Cornell : The only way would be shutting them down and within a short time, it would be impossible to supply the population with sufficient food and clean water: resulting civil unrest would undoubtedly "aggravate" the situation
