Actually funny

This is one of the half a dozen or so featurettes on the Blades of Glory DVD. It consists solely of an interview of both actor-comedians, and to my great and positive surprise, they are pretty hilarious to listen to. Like most of the stuff on the disc, this takes the light-hearted approach, and plays it for laughs. I have to wonder why they weren't this amusing in the film, and I'd guess the answer lies in the tone, the directing and the writing. They come off so much more genuine in this, you almost sort of believe that what they're saying is true, and the material is fairly solid. I don't know that I've seen them, together or apart, before, but now I'd outright consider making an effort to. The jokes are almost as sharp as the editing is. While there is no real information in this, if you're going to watch just one of the short extras on the disc, I'm suggesting you pick this one of the handful or so that there are. This has crude stuff, and the language is mild to moderately strong. Apart from that, this is basically an inoffensive production. I recommend this to fans of Arnett and/or Poehler. 6/10

Not great then but has enough about it to be an amusing spoof interview

As a fan of Arnett from his part in Arrested Development, I was looking forward to this short film that is a mock interview with them on the set of Blades of Glory, where they play sibling ice skaters. Mostly the result was good as the talented pair play off one another well. The material is funny when it is just slightly exaggerated with imagination and wit but there are moments where it does just fall flat because it goes to the point of being silly and thus falling way out of the target of being this interview on set. The best example was the description of Poehler urinating in the corners of the set to make her scent around, imaginative perhaps but too out-there and not in line with the rest of the material.

Like everything about Blades of Glory, it didn't have me rolling with laughter but it did consistently amuse me. I found Arnett funnier than Poehler but they were actually both very good and my preference was probably more to do with Arrested Development than anything else. Not great then but has enough about it to be an amusing addition to Blades of Glory.
