On the third disc in the set there is an "easter egg" interview with Gene introducing Mark St. John. This interview can be accessed by selecting the "KISSology" text from the main menu. more
Quotes:
Gene Simmons: [during Tom Snyder interview commentary] ... We were honored to be on the show. Of course, as soon as we got on the show it was clear that Ace, God bless him, and we all love him and so do I, was blitzed out of his mind! This was a real high point in my life and I just wanted to take a sharp object and just end it right then there. Because when I watch this, the real star of this interview is Ace Frehley, the most entertaing guy and stuff like that. I thought our career was over. more

As long as I'm on today,I thought I'd review this set as well. This came out on Aug. 14th and my KISS fan brother got it on the 18th. Like the first DVD set there's 3 main DVD's and one "extra" concert DVD.

The best part of the 1978 to 1982 period is that KISS still has the make up on and are still very to fairly popular. Still making in studio videos for some songs and of course more great concerts and TV appearances. They appear in 1981,promoting "The Elder" album,on the short lived ABC late night show "Fridays" (an S.N.L clone) with shorter hair and purple outfits. (Stanley's haircut makes him look like Frank Stallone in KISS make up!) The audience still loves them though.

Then entering 1983 we get the MTV exclusive of when they removed their make up. From there it's mostly concerts. Most KISS fans have the "studio made" videos already,so they're not here. Most embarrassing in this case though is KISS in the 1987/88 "Crazy Nights period, this concert included is an embarrassing display of how far down the fame ladder they had fallen by then. Bad singing on Stanley's part (as well as awful 80s gear),lack of back up vocal support from Gene and Bruce Kulick (Gene looks like he could care less). Eric Carr, while doing his job is pretty much invisible. Worst is a seemingly unreceptive audience where someone throws a huge plastic object at Paul while he's singing! \ Funniest moment in this mess though is Paul gets done singing "Bang-Bang You" (yes it's a real song) and starts saying bang-bang repeatedly into the microphone! Which really makes him look silly.

The big surprise though is the 1990 "Hot In The Shade" concert of Oct. 1990 (I saw this tour,it really did rock!) That show on disc 3 is the best! Paul Stanley hits not one bad note, makes not one mistake and looks like he's found a rocker's fountain of youth in himself,

Gene Simmons is finally back from Hollywood and paying attention to rock and roll and literally channels "The Beast" without make up. Kulick's guitar is sharp and Carr's drumming and rock vocals scorch the stage! At the end of this is a touching (yet short) tribute to Eric Carr, look for it after the final credits.

Unlike the first set,I can't give this ten stars due to that Crazy Nights concert. I'll be generous and give it eight stars. The big finish and the late 70s/early 80s material makes it worth the money. (END)
