Tron 3 picked up a little more steam this past week after Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund opened up about his potential involvement in the project.

In speaking with NextMovie about his upcoming flick On the Road, Hedlund surprisingly responded to an inquiry about appearing in the upcoming sequel with, "Yeah...Are we gonna break this now?" He went on to pull Disney into the discussion as well. "Disney's very excited," he continued. "That's about that. You know, yeah, I'm very excited, Disney's very excited."

A little over a week ago, Disney announced that Jesse Wigutow is in negotiations to pen the Tron 3 screenplay. Wigutow's previous works include the television movie The Prince as well as uncredited work on the big screen adaptation of Eragon.

Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski is expected to return and call the shots on Tron 3 as well.

According to Imdb.com, Wigutow counts the 2003 Michael Douglas drama “It Runs in the Family” and the 2006 TV movie “The Prince” among his credits. I have no idea how that sets him up as the writer of a “Tron” movie, but hey, they’re Disney and I’m not. The 2010 movie starred Garret Hedlund as the son of Jeff Bridges’ character from the first movie, who finds »
