Tired trope

Warning: Spoilers
Excellent effects but a worn and tired story. Honestly the episode in Monsters and Mysteries in America was scarier than this short film. See it if you want but it is not worth the time. Better spent watch the Badlands episode of Monsters and Mysteries in America.

Extremely effective and well-made short!

I don't usually write reviews for things on IMDb, but the single 2-star review I see for it, holding this little low budget short to the same standards of a well-funded television series, is just a joke and I had to say something.

I'm a judge for a fairly well-known horror festival in Texas, and this was one of the best horror shorts we had come across our desk the year it was screened. The clever use of light and dark, the special effects, the music, the editing--all of it was outstanding. Is it perfect? No. But what it is is still a show of filmmaking competency not often seen on the horror festival circuit, and it should be rewarded with encouragement, not cynicism. I enjoyed it, my fellow judges enjoyed it, and I believe many of you would enjoy it, too. Look it up, sometime. I think it's on Youtube somewhere.

I'm giving this little film (and their other films) some extra love to make up for the boorish nature of the previous review. Keep going, team Sclera Absentia! I can't wait to see what you do next.
