The premise of this show is to offer an overview of some of the world's religions, and to discuss the origins of some pantheons of gods as worshipped by various cultures. As such, the program succeeds in doing what it sets out to do. However, there are several rather annoying characteristics of this production. For me, the main one is the interspersing in each program of bizarre sets of rapid visual imagery combined with rather ugly noises, perhaps intended to segue between ideas, but which in fact form a hazard for anyone susceptible to epileptic seizures or motion sickness. BBC News will warn you if flash photography is coming; the producers of this series should do the same here. Also, I see no need to have so many views of the host in some temple ruin, where he is seen from many angles (clearly) but with blurry columns in the background. One wonders what the director was thinking!
