Warm Bodies Coming To Blu-Ray In June

7 April 2013 1:07 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Summit Entertainment (a division of Lionsgate) have announced Jonathan Levine’s romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies for Blu-Ray in June. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer and Rob Corddry.

Jonathan Levine is one of the most important up-and-comer directors to keep an eye on. I guess you can’t even call him an up-and-comer anymore, because he’s already built up an impressive filmography, which features films like The Wackness, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, 50/50 and now Warm Bodies.

Levine is a director that knows very well how to establish likable characters that almost always feel authentic and real, despite one of them possibly being a zombie this time around.

Warm Bodies is a genre-changer; A film that blends together the horror of zombies with the real-life romance and comedy that comes from relationships. He also tells a great deal about what it feels to be alone or »

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane Finally Sees Us Release After Seven Years

9 March 2013 8:15 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Everyone knows director Jonathan Levine from his diverse portfolio which includes The Wackness, 50/50, and Warm Bodies, but what no one knows is that Levine made his first film before all those efforts back in 2006. Making a splash at numerous festivals throughout 2006 and 2007, Levine saw his horror/slasher hybrid All The Boys Love Mandy Lane snatched up by the Weinstein Company for $3.5 million and then readied for release – but no one has heard from it since then.

Citing the theatrical failure of Grindhouse and some less than positive test screenings, Levine’s film was eventually sold off to Senator Entertainment Us as the Weinstein’s didn’t want to risk another bomb, but that only spelled worse news for Mandy when Senator Entertainment Us went out of business. This left All The Boys Love Mandy Lane in an un-releasable limbo where it was forgotten and overlooked – until Levine’s recent splash success. »

Radius-twc Purchases Us Rights To Jonathan Levine’s “All The Boys Love Mandy Lane”

9 March 2013 3:56 PM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Warm Bodies Director Jonathan Levine has just had another zombie-like experience. His first feature length film: All The Boys Love Mandy Jane (2006), will finally be released after being shelved for seven years. The slasher film generated tons of hype from people who saw it at festivals but at the time boasted no big names. This probably influenced TWC’s decision to sell it to Senator Entertainment’s distribution company …which later went out of business. The film’s chances at a Us release have been dead ever since. Until yesterday’s announcement that…

Radius, a label under the Weinstein Company has purchased the Us rights to the film. Radius Co-President Tom Quinn said:

“I’ve been chasing this film since I first saw it in Toronto. [Executive producer] Keith Calder and I have kept in touch over the years and he’s finally been able to wrangle the film from a deal at Senator. »

Amber Heard's All The Boys Love Mandy Lane Is Finally Being Released

9 March 2013 1:00 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

After seven years of sitting on the shelf collecting dust Jonathan Levine's debut film, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, is actually going to get released. Since this movie has been made Levine has directed The Wackness, 50/50, and Warm Bodies. I saw this movie one year at Comic-Con and I'll be honest, I wasn't a big fan. He's a solid filmmaker now, but I wasn't impressed with this one at all, particularly Amber Heard's performance.  The movie will finally be released sometime this year, but there's still no solid release date. Here's the synopsis for the film...

Starring Amber Heard and Anson Mount, All The Boys Love Mandy is about a group of high-schoolers who invite Mandy Lane, 'a good girl' who becomes the object of everyone’s affection after returning from summer break, to a weekend party on a secluded ranch. While the festivities rage on, the »

Jonathan Levine’s Directorial Debut All The Boys Love Mandy Lane Finally Gets Us Release

9 March 2013 5:48 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Seven years after its Toronto Film Festival Midnight premiere, Jonathan Levine‘s very first film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is finally getting released in the Us. The horror flick which impressed audiences at the 2006 Tiff was finished before The Wackness, 50/50 and Warm Bodies, all those movies you are familiar with. The Weinstein Company purchased it, but for some strange reason locked it up indefinitely. This time Radius-twc, the digital arm of The Weinstein Company, acquired the rights and plans a late summer release. The indie horror has already been released to home video. Watch: Trailer For Jonathan Levine's Debut 'All The Boys Love Mandy Lane' Finally Getting U.S. Release This Summer

8 March 2013 1:49 PM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Let's say you're a first time director, and you go to the Toronto International Film Festival hoping that maybe your film will get noticed and perhaps land a modest distribution deal. Now imagine that it's a hit, and none other than The Weinstein Company come calling with plans to release your movie through their Dimension Films shingle. Awesome! Or so it would seem to anyone, but this was 2006 and director Jonathan Levine -- who would go on to make "The Wackness," "50/50" and "Warm Bodies" -- found himself in a curious situation with "All The Boys Love Mandy Lane." He had a hot distributor for his movie, but they got cold feet after "Grindhouse" flopped, and sold his picture to Senator Entertainment...who went out of business. But now the movie has come full circle. The Weinstein's shingle Radius now have the "All The Boys Love Mandy Lane," and it has »

By now you're probbaly already familiar with director Jonathan Levine after his films The Wackness, 50/50 and Warm Bodies all rounded up decent season audiences. What you may not know is that Levine's very first film, titled All the Boys Mandy Lane, was finished before all those movies in 2006.  The horror flick impressed audiences at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival and was auctioned off to The Wenstein Co. back then for $3.5 million. However, the film has yet to see a real release in the United States. But now the company's Radius-twc genre arm will finally release it sometime this year in at least the top 50 markets. Better-Late-Than-Never Movie Review: 'Warm Bodies'

11 February 2013 7:15 AM, PST | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Warm Bodies

Starring Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Analeigh Tipton

Directed by Jonathan Levine

Rated PG-13

The latest entry in the burgeoning zom-rom-com genre approaches the zombie apocalypse with some fresh ideas and fresh brains to explore the living dead in a more human way than ever before. What follows is light on scares but big on heart with the zombie apocalypse serving more as a fact of life as opposed to an ongoing terror. Think more Zombieland, less The Walking Dead.

Director Jonathan Levine has recently done some fun and clever work with 2008’s The Wackness as well as with 2011’s excellent 50/50 and he does a good job here of translating the tone and feel of those films to Warm Bodies. Much of this can be chalked up to a surprisingly likable cast and a heartfelt message that, while sometimes a bit cheesy, is an entirely pleasant romp through the land of the undead. »

Film Review: 'Warm Bodies'

6 February 2013 7:07 AM, PST | CineVue | See recent CineVue news »

★★★★☆ Jonathan Levine, writer-director of 50/50 (2011) and The Wackness (2008), turns the zombie movie sub-genre on its head to successful, heartwarming and humorous results with Warm Bodies (2013), an adaptation of Isaac Marion's best-selling post-apocalyptic novel. In a world ravaged by an unknown plague that's left most of the population as undead, brainless corpses, R (Nicholas Hoult) is a unique specimen: a zombie who maintains a peculiar sense of humanity. R's new-found existence, which mostly includes pacing and grunting, is overturned when he meets beautiful survivor Julie (Teresa Palmer) - and consequently falls for her.

Warm Bodies Is The New Twilight: A Surprise Hit Driven By Teen Girls

3 February 2013 10:23 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

The Twilight saga is finally over. I know it seemed like it was never going to happen, but we made it through together, and the hordes who obsessed over sparkly Edward and hairy Jacob for years will have to move on to something else. Conventional wisdom says that next big thing will be Fifty Shades of Grey, the erotic and critically reviled novel currently on its way toward a film adaptation. But could the next Twilight be something good instead-- and already out in theaters? On the surface Warm Bodies didn't look at all like the heir to Twilight. It's liked by critics, it's primarily a comedy, and it's from director Jonathan Levine, who has made beloved but little-seen movies like The Wackness and 50/50 that mostly appealed to male audiences. But Warm Bodies surprised a lot of people when it opened in theaters this weekend, making a hefty $20 million and »

Synopsis:

A zombie saves a girl from an attack and the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that could transform the entire lifeless world.

Every year we get a slew of romantic comedies, most of which are the same thing we see all the time. Sometimes we get one or two that take a chance to do something different and it ends up working out for the better. Warm Bodies tries something very different and ends up being one of the most original and inventive films in quite some time.

Sound Off: Jonathan Levine's 'Warm Bodies' - What Did You Think?

1 February 2013 6:13 PM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Cold body. Warm heart. Zombies! They're all the rage nowadays. But one of one of them had a heart? In theaters now is Jonathan Levine's Warm Bodies, an adaptation of Isaac Marion's novel, about a zombie called R, played by Nicholas Hoult, that falls for a girl named Julie, played by Teresa Palmer. How is the new film from Jonathan Levine (of All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, The Wackness and 50/50)? How are up-and-comers Hoult and Palmer as romantic leads? Is it any good or is it really bad? Once you've seen it, write a comment with your own thoughts on Warm Bodies. To fuel the fire, I just got back from seeing Warm Bodies and while it's enjoyable, I just wasn't really that impressed. It felt too lightweight and careless half the time, and zombie story seemed trite and unexciting. »

Warm Bodies Review: Nicholas Hoult Shares Zombie Love

1 February 2013 7:53 AM, PST | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

On the surface, Warm Bodies looks and sounds terrible. It is a love story between a live girl and an undead boy told from the zombie's point of view. The number of conventions broke with that sentence alone is alarming. But in actuality, Warm Bodies ends up working, and working very well.

Warm Bodies, written and directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, The Wackness), based off Issac Marion's novel of the same name, is the story of R (Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: First Class), a twenty-something zombie who is constantly questioning his existence. He lives in an abandoned airport with a horde of other zombies and an army of Bonies, which are zombies that have decayed to the point of frightening aggression. Both faction of undead live together, as the Bonies only attack things that have a heartbeat.

From the very start, we learn that R is different. He has built a home »
