Why in the world this movie have the title 'Theliv' ? It is totally misleading. It is just an ordinary story of a single mother struggling to get a life.

Capsule Review: Thelivu / Unenterprising Thriller / 3 Stars
nairtejas28 May 2020
When you think about Thelivu (Evidence) as a potential film you can catch, you naturally assume it is a thriller with some elements of crime, police interrogation, and courtroom drama. Although the film does have some of those elements, it does not stay true to its title. There is not a single sequence involving a court or a crime scene investigation. Forget that, there is no mention of anything about any evidence, which dampened my experience even as I managed to complete it. A story about a husband-wife duo who get embroiled in a a murder and then keep running from it. Suddenly, the story takes a turn, and thanks to its convoluted, non-linear storyline, misses to convey a lot of information that is essential to make sense of the happenings. It is this gap and some glaring issues in continuity and plot that further make Thelivu a very irritating film to watch. There is a suspense factor in the film but you don't feel it somehow, and even watching Asha Sharath play a woman in a dilemma does not ignite any sort of excitement that should have been the biggest feature of a crime drama like this. Blame it on the poor writing, the story that lacks substance, and the overall messy job, Thelivu fails to entertain. TN.

A good family movie after a long time

A good blend of a movie with essential ingredients mixed together. this is a real craftwork after a long time on silver screen.
A serious film based on a crime but without dance and fights which is a good movie to watch with the family.
The actors are like hand picked to fit for the purpose and they did well even the little kid who appered in the second half.
Few things taking this movie to higher level and even promising the crew for few awards in coming days like the cinematography, camera,
dedicated natural acting and background score.
Visualisation of this movies is something which bring ones memories to the Balumahendra days, so nicely executed
2 songs one by Sri. Jayachandran and other one by Kallara Gopan is so sweet and haunting us to hear the same again and again
i belive these might be the best songs of the year.

After a long time had an opportunity to watch a good suspense thriller that moves with the interrogation and presents you some nail biting sequences. the performance given by all the actors especially lal and asha sarath needs special mention. and to top them all the cinematographer did an awesome job by visualizing Munroe islands at its best.
Good thriller

A family movie with a strong woman character. The story is about how the lead woman fights the unfortunate circumstances she gets into. Asha Sarath has handled her role very well. The script and camera work is noteworthy. All in all a good family movie.
A thriller for family

The movie is a thriller set in a picturesque island. Right from the beginning to the end the movie is tension filled. The story and the powerful performance of the actors keep the tension through out. Asha Sarath's acting was brilliant. One of the best Malayalam movie to come out in 2019 in the drama-thriller genre.
A good movie
