- Tamsin: Nice lunch?
- Peter Duckham: Well, it would have been if you hadn't made a reservation for Mr Frye and me in the same place.
- Tamsin: But I'd already looked up the number.
- Parker Morrow: What was Peter like at school?
- Lucas Frye: He was one of those boys who couldn't wait to embrace middle age. He had a mid-life crisis at 16.
- Parker Morrow: What? Somebody broke his heart, huh?
- Lucas Frye: No, no, no! Much worse. His cricket bat.
- Peter Duckham: [picks up the phone] Hello Sophie!
- Sophie Duckham: I just dropped by to see if you'd fixed anything about Charlotte's birthday yet.
- Peter Duckham: I haven't actually. I've been rather busy.
- Sophie Duckham: Obviously.
- Peter Duckham: It's not what you think.
- Sophie Duckham: Oh, come on Peter. You're in a Bayswater hotel with the American woman in the middle of the afternoon. Need I say more?
- Peter Duckham: Lucas is here too.
- Sophie Duckham: Oh, god! It gets even grubbier.
- [slams the phone down]
- Peter Duckham: Can't win. Never could.
- Lucas Frye: I was sorely tempted actually to pop into the Finnish National Airline and give you the slip there.
- Peter Duckham: Why there?
- Lucas Frye: Don't you see, Duckham? It's every spook's dream. I could then have said I vanished into thin air.
