Surprisingly not awful

In the UK this film has been retitled 'American Hot Babes'. I was idly thumbing through LoveFilm and switched on, expecting to turn it off after the first two minutes. I've been fooled by DVD covers with the promise of comedy and sexy people on a white background before, with films that have been neither funny or sexy.

Lots of attractive young women willing to appear semi or half naked means that the film wins on the sexy front. However, after the concept of two guys stuck in an alternate porn film dimension is introduced, the events are necessary to parody but the predictability reduces the laughs and it's obviously difficult to squeeze many jokes out of the concept and its accompanying paint-by-numbers maturation plot.

On a positive note, the production design was very pleasing to the eye, if you can tear them from the exposed flesh on view, but the acting was the biggest pleasant surprise. Previous experience has led me to expect weak or over-the-top performances but the cast here are good and there are some faces that you'd expect nothing less from.

An easy watch for the intended audience but it needed stronger comedy moments.
