Relish This Compilation of Exploding Heads

What do you think of immediately when you think "exploding head"? Scanners, yes? Well, that film and many more are represented in a newly discovered "exploding head video montage" that culls many of our favorite scenes involving cranial damage.

From The Running Man to Chopping Mall, From Dusk Till Dawn to Dawn of the Dead, this is one video you may want to watch after setting aside your breakfast this morning. Kudos to the editing team for this wet, gruesome and loving display of carnage.

The films:

1. Hott Fuzz

2. Scanners

3. Dawn of the Dead (1978)

4. Dawn of the Dead (2004)

5. The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

6. The Prowler

7. Maniac

8. Tokyo Gore Police

9. The Last House on the Left (2009)

10. Inside

11. Spy Hard

12. Deadly Friend

Ratings (out of 5 dishes): Movie | Audio | Video | Overall

Though Conan the Barbarian is truer to the concept of “Conan” as created by fantasy writer Robert E. Howard in 1932 than any other film or TV adaptation we’ve seen, the film still plays like plenty of sword-and-sorcery warrior fantasy films released over the past decade. It’s biggest selling point is, well, that it carries the familiar moniker of Conan the Barbarian.

Jason Momoa prepares to make a point in Conan the Barbarian.

In the movie, as in Howard’s pulp novels, Conan is born on the battlefield in the fictional “Hyborian Age, »

Video Game Review: B-Movie Glee of ‘House of the Dead: Overkill’

15 November 2011 2:57 PM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – “House of the Dead: Overkill” is not unlike “Grindhouse” for shooter fans. Remember the total chaos of Robert Rodriguez’s “Planet Terror”? Imagine that insane, B-movie violence, gore, and ridiculous dialogue in video game form. Much to the surprise of those of us who had written off any chance of adult-driven games on the Nintendo Wii, the “House of the Dead” game hit the platform in 2009 and was a fun ride. Now the game has been upgraded, remastered, and Move-enabled for PS3 fans. If you have one of those remarkably-underused motion devices for your Sony machine, this is one of the best things you could possibly do with it.

Video Game Rating: 3.5/5.0

If you’re not familiar with the Wii version of this game, you should be warned — your grandma is not going to like you playing it. This is the kind of insane title that includes multiple »

Viva Berlin! (2011) Web Series Trailer: Moritz Mohr

Viva Berlin! Trailer. Moritz Mohr‘s Viva Berlin! (2011) web series trailer stars Jens Atzorn, Christian Blümel, Ralph Herforth, Alissa Jung, and Yûho Yamashita. Viva Berlin! plot synopsis: “An unknown plague is rapidly spreading in Berlin. All its carriers turn into blood-thirsty zombies who feed off the uninfected. After a short time, ninety five percent of the population is dead or undead; Berlin’s face has changed entirely. Viva Berlin! is Germany’s first serious attempt at a zombie project. The series consists of five mini-episodes – horror stories without a single soft spot. The ultimate genre experience – as hard and unsparing as true zombie fans appreciate it.”

This looks cool, as violent as The Walking Dead and Planet Terror. The sniper in this web series trailer is very skilled.

Chuck, Ep. 5.02, “Chuck Versus the Bearded Bandit”: A surprising turn nearly saves a weak episode

Chuck Ep. 5.02, “Chuck Versus the Bearded Bandit”

Written by Lauren LeFranc and Rafe Judkins

Directed by Patrick Norris

Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC

Over the past few seasons of Chuck, key revelations have clarified that Chuck Bartowski was more than just the guy who accidentally received the Intersect. His brain has the unique ability to handle the tremendous volume of information and special skills injected by the device. Chuck’s personality also remains intact, which keeps him from becoming too power-hungry. In last season’s “Chuck Versus the A-Team,” top CIA stars couldn’t handle this power with the same even-handed approach. Now that Morgan inadvertently has the Intersect in his head, will he face similar problems as those agents? The premiere mostly played his new role for laughs, but its follow-up shows that life isn’t so rosy for the lovable sidekick.

Hayden Panettiere and Melissa Leo Race 'Over the Wall'

3 November 2011 7:30 PM, PDT | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

Hayden Panettiere and Melissa Leo are heading top speed toward a new starring vehicle.

The "Scream 4" screamer and Oscar-winning "Fighter" mom are joining the cast of the car racing drama, "Over the Wall," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nick Stahl ("Sin City") and Freddy Rodriguez ("Planet Terror") also star in the story set in the world of stock car racing. The plot follows a husband, wife, surrogate mother and best friend as they attempt to recover from the turmoil of a tragic event (which we're guessing is a car racing accident).

We have to admit, we weren't sure how "Heroes" cutie Hayden Panettiere would do in making the transition from television to feature films, but when she ended up being the best thing (by far) about "Scream 4," we were totally sold on her future as a movie star. More Hayden, please.

‘Piranha 3Dd’ starring David Hasselhoff and Ving Rhames – teaser trailer review

Piranha 3Dd

Directed by: John Gulager

Starring: David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames

Rating: R

Release Date: 2012

Trailer Score: 1/10

Thoughts by Tsr: I saw the first Piranha 3D and I will never be able to get the image of Jerry O’Connell, with his eviscerated legs and genitals, out of my mind. It’s not something I would like to remember. This teaser looks almost identical to the teaser for the first film, only it swaps Richard Dreyfuss for David Hasselhoff. This is just as well because it felt like Dreyfuss was slumming, whereas this is actually a step up for Hasselhoff. This time, even fewer punches are pulled, making sure to focus on large, fake breasts hanging off faceless women. The shot of Rhames with the leg from Planet Terror looks particularly cynical. I know it’s meant to be tongue in cheek, but the unrelenting misogyny of the trailer (and yes, »

Piranha 3Dd Trailer Swims to the Surface

For those of you who have an aversion to scantily clad women and excessive violence, read no further.

For those of you that have an aversion to any movie that doesn’t feature those things, than you’ve come to the right place.  Spike has your first look at the Piranha 3Dd trailer premiered at the Scream awards.

This outing promises more of what we loved about the first film:  killer piranhas, floozies, and absurd levels of carnage.  Plus, you get the added bonus of David Hasselhoff and Gary Busey joining their acting talents to those of returning stars Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames.  And yes, Ving Rhames has taken a page out of the Cherry Darling Planet Terror book and installed some kind of machine gun piranha blaster thing on his leg.

The annual Spike TV awards were screened on Tuesday night, which has naturally led to a few new teasers and trailers floating to the web’s surface and getting caught in the ‘net. But mixed metaphors aside, one of the most anticipated – at least by those who love the idea of killer fish chowing down on nubile young partygoers and desiccated older celebrities – was for Ott horror sequel Piranha 3Dd. You can see it below. This first teaser trailer delivers exactly what you’d expect from the movie – lots of shots of the titular aquatic beasties swarming to attack, sun-kissed, bikini-clad babes enjoying themselves (at least until the screaming starts) and some utterly mad ideas (such as Ving Rhames’ machine gun leg, something that Planet Terror director Robert Rodriguez might have a few words to say about.)And because clearly no Piranha movie is complete without some “talent”, there’s also David Hasselhoff, »
