Ray assembles his team of girl footballers, but can't wrest control of the gym away from Mr. Robson. When they get stroppy, they are kicked out. The girls blame Ray, and seem to have given up on him. The boys who were training with Mr. Robson subsequently taunt the girls with "off, off, off" chanting. Both Robyn and Mary are in a thoughtful frame of mind; Robyn can't stop thinking about mystery older boy Adam, while Mary worries about her camp being evicted. Maria tries to persuade Richard to spend summer with her in Yorkshire: Fran watches on in annoyed jealousy. In the library, Natalie finds a photograph of a boy with a note on the back lovingly addressed to Natasha. Fran keeps quiet about it being faked by herself earlier in the term, and they plant it in Maria's bag. To Fran's surprise, Natasha says she does know the boy, and that she was keeping him a secret. Ray is giving the girls a football training session, but despairs at their lack of the killer instinct - though they can't... Written by Geffers
