Jonathan brings in a supposedly hot shot writer called George who is a pre-op transsexual. The staff writers feel usurped and go on strike. Jonathan's lack of tactfulness towards George's situation means that soon he has no writers at all.

Somewhat the worse for drink Jonathan calls a press preview when there is nothing to preview so the staff work through the night, exposing many revelations such as Carl's broken home, Mel's grieving for her dead pet dog and Jonathan's cowardice.

The wrap party for the finished pilot of zombie drama 'Renaissance' has its ups and downs, the biggest 'down' being Nancy's decision to scrap the whole series. However the staff, led by the usually cowardly Jonathan, pull together and have the last laugh when, cheered on by Alan Dale and Kelly Brook, they illegally post it on the ITV website, thus ensuring maximum exposure.
