Storyline

Elliot Guillespsie dreams of being the worlds greatest investigative reporter, ala his idol, Rod Reel. A daunting task considering he is both camera man and reporter, can't drive, and still lives in his mother's basement. Further complicating matters is Roy Henry who, as Elliot's childhood bully tortured the boy, and is now a born again Christian/recovering alcoholic seeking forgiveness. He is also seeing Elliot's mother. Elliot escapes an unacceptable home life in the guise of Lance Windchaser, his journalistic alter-ego. He enlists Toby, a suburban taxi driver, to be his cameraman, which Toby accepts in an attempt to escape his own hellacious home life. The two become unlikely friends, and patrol the streets of their suburban home in search of the big scoop. Problem is, news in the little city is just hard to come by. This does not dissuade Elliot's enthusiasm, and he finds great joy in reporting the most mundane of stories. His home life continues to deteriorate as his commitment ... Written by Zach Pease

Fresh Film

For a first film effort, Drew Sawyer pulled out all the stops. Zaney plot line, interesting camera angles and admirable performances by novice actors created an enjoyable entertainment experience. Filmed in and around Rome, GA., there are lots of landmarks from the historical downtown included in the movie. The music was also evidence of a creative collaboration. For a low budget effort, there were scores of surprises in this film. Without taking away from the big moment, one is reminded that, when left to their own devices, youth with raging hormones are capable of some hair raising antics. It is hard to believe that it has been four years since this film premiered in Atlanta, GA. Many of us are ready for the next edition of Sawyer Magic. I hear we might have to chase him down in Germany?
