New ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Images are Bloody, Gorgeous

13 July 2017 11:09 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

A batch of new images from Blade Runner 2049 have landed online, and if this thing doesn’t score Oscar nominations for Cinematography, Costumes, and Production Design I’ll be shocked. The sequel may or may not have been a good idea in the first place, but setting Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario) to direct, Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford to star, and Roger Deakins (Skyfall, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) to serve as director of photography solidified this movie as a must-see. These new images highlight the incredible attention to detail of the sets … »

While rumors abound about current Bond star Daniel Craig and whether or not he'll be back for Bond 25, there's been considerably less chatter about the director's chair. Sam Mendes, who sat the helm for the last two super-spy installments--2012's Skyfall and 2015's Spectre--said himself that it's time for another director to take over, though who exactly that is has yet to be confirmed. Daniel Craig Reportedly ‘Secured’ To Return As James Bond For Fifth Film

10 July 2017 12:45 PM, PDT | | See recent LRM Online news »

Daniel Craig’s involvement with the Bond franchise going forward has seemingly been unsure ever since around the promotional period for his last film, Spectre. As the actor made the rounds, supposedly promoting the film, he only seemed to drive home just how much he wanted Not to be involved in the franchise any longer. He famously mentioned wanting to slash his wrists rather than do another Bond film.

In the time since then, Craig has backpedaled a bit. He ultimately said that was in the thick of it when he was most tired, but when all said and done, he was grateful for the gig. However, this didn’t really seem to make him any more likely to take on Bond once more, and speculation continued to run rampant about other solid actors taking up the moniker of James Bond.

Christopher Nolan Would ‘Definitely’ Direct a James Bond Movie

10 July 2017 10:18 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Christopher Nolan, director of “The Dark Knight” trilogy, knows a thing or two about reinventing iconic characters. So to be tempted to take on a James Bond movie, he said the franchise would have to be in need of a revival.

“A Bond movie, definitely,” Nolan said in an interview with Playboy. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”

Christopher Nolan has one important condition for directing a James Bond film

10 July 2017 9:11 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Rumors of Christopher Nolan helming a James Bond film have been around since Skyfall at least, and it’s no secret that the director has had talks with producers about stepping aboard. After all, it seems like a great pairing, and it is something that fans want.

After the luke-warm reception to Spectre, many fans want Christopher Nolan to save the franchise with the next 007 film. Through all of this, however, we haven’t heard much from Christopher Nolan himself. Talking to Playboy recently, the director revealed a key condition that needs to be met for him to consider directing a film in the James Bond franchise.

“A Bond movie, definitely. I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. »

Daniel Craig is all set to return to Bond, Adele being lined up to sing theme

So much for Daniel Craig turning his back on 007 after he publicly declared in 2015 that he “would rather slit his own wrists” than play Bond again. News trickling through over the weekend has Craig now firmly placed at Bond Headquarters to reprise the role of the iconic slick British spy.

It is being noted that Craig’s interest in returning to the film in which he was contracted to star in five Bond outings was renewed after hearing of the array of talent which were being lined up to replace him with the likes of Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Aiden Turner and James Norton.

Sony and Bond Producer Barbara Broccoli could well be breathing a sigh, Craig’s time as Bond has been the franchise’s most lucrative period with Skyfall grossing $1.1 billion at the international box office, which made it the »

The Mirror is reporting that Daniel Craig looks ready to sign back on for Bond 25, after sitting on the fence for far too long now, changing his tune more times than we can possibly count.

According to the outlet, the actor’s struck a deal with producer Barbara Broccoli and filming will get underway next year, with the plan being to release the flick in 2019. What’s more is that Broccoli is hoping to get Adele back on board as well to sing the theme song, after the phenomenal job she did on Skyfall.

Daniel Craig reportedly signs on for Bond 25

If reports are to be believed, the saga over the next James Bond is at an end, with The Mirror reporting that producer Barbara Broccoli has convinced Daniel Craig to sign on for a fifth outing as 007 in Bond 25.

Craig had originally cast doubt over his future as the super spy when he suggested he’d rather “slash my wrists” than return for another movie, prompting rampant speculation as to who could succeed him in the role. However, his stance subsequently softened, and while it’s been reported on several occasions that he turned down astronomical sums of money to return, it has been said that the star always remained the number one choice of the producers to continue in the role.

The Mirror’s report also goes on to claim that Broccoli is “determined” to have Adele return to record the theme tune for Bond 25, following her Brit, »

Producers Reportedly Considering James Bond Cinematic Universe

28 June 2017 1:56 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

As a franchise, James Bond remains an interesting anomaly. As one of the longest running properties in cinematic history, the release of a new film in the series doesn’t follow any regular schedule, with production depending on the whims of the leading man. Though the franchise kept going at a pretty good clip through the ’80s and ’90s, once the mercurial Daniel Craig boarded things started to stretch out. Four years passed between “Quantum Of Solace” and “Skyfall,” with another three passing between “Skyfall” and “Spectre.” Two years have passed since that latter film and there’s no word on what’s next in the series, so we still could be in for a quite a wait.

From the producers of Brooklyn and Carol, Their Finest takes place in Britain during World War II and tells the story of a film crew as they create a movie to boost the country’s morale after the Blitz. Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin and Golden Globe winner Bill Nighy (2007, Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, Gideon’s Daughter) lead an all-star cast in what Andrew Barker at Variety considers “a relentlessly charming romantic comedy.” Directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day), the Their Finest Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.

1940, London, the Blitz. Catrin and a fellow writer, Buckley (Sam Claflin), reluctantly joins forces with fading matinee idol Ambrose Hilliard (Bill Nighy) on a movie to warm the hearts of the nation and capture the imagination of the American public.

Five Amazing Swimming Scenes in Movies

8 June 2017 3:30 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

The swimming pool is a surprisingly common motif in the movie world. Not only does water look great on camera (see Daniel Craig in Casino Royale), it also serves as the perfect metaphor. Whether it’s suggesting that a character is out of their depth, shallow as a paddling pool, or set to take a trip into their own subconscious, the act of swimming is a potent symbol. Hollywood movies are filled with watery scenes, with everything from Sunset Boulevard to Jaws, The Graduate, Skyfall, and Spring Breakers throwing their characters in at the deep end. Arthouse cinema is similarly fixated

First Full Trailer for Alien Invasion Thriller 'Revolt' Featuring Lee Pace

"Must have some weakness, something we can use against them." A full-length trailer has been unveiled for an indie sci-fi project titled Revolt, from director Joe Miale making his feature debut. The film stars Lee Pace as a Us soldier in Africa attempting to fight back against a brutal alien invasion. This kind of seems a bit like a mash-up between District 9 and Transformers, with robot-like alien creatures taking over. Also with Bérénice Marlohe (who was also in the sci-fi Kill Switch, as well as Skyfall and Song to Song), plus Amy Louise Wilson, Alan Santini, and Tom Fairfoot. This has some solid VFX work and it seems like it could be a fun under-the-radar sci-fi film, I just hope it's better than it looks. This trailer is worth a watch.
