It Sounds Like Ghost Rider Is Definitely Coming To Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. This Fall

21 July 2016 12:59 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Marvel Studios quietly regained the rights to Ghost Rider shortly after the dismal critical and commercial performance of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and the character has been gathering dust on a shelf ever since. Chances are that not even Kevin Feige could convince moviegoers to give the demonic superhero another chance, so what can be done with him? A Netflix series sounds good. Unfortunately, that isn't happening. According to Latino-Review, Ghost Rider is definitely coming to the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., something which has been rumoured for some time now. However, as many fans already figured out after a casting call was sent out looking for "a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair," we won't be getting the Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch version of the Spirit of Vengeance.  Instead, it's »

Set in 1979 NYC it tells the tale of a Coney Island  gang that must make it back to their home turf after  being framed for the murder of Cyrus, leader of the largest gang in NYC. If you're an ardent chanbara cinema follower, this bit may concern you. Sp International Pictures's own Steven Paul (Ghost Rider (2007), Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance (2011), Tekken (2009), Tekken: Kazuya's Revenge (2014)) is now developing a live-action remake of Inoue Akira's 1993 film, Lone Wolf And Cub: Final Conflict which commences shooting in 2017. Ghost Rider: Norman Reedus is keen on the role

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus is keen to play Marvel’s fiery-skull antihero Ghost Rider...

This article contains some fruity language.

Norman Reedus is a huge motorcycle enthusiast. As well as riding around on one between brutal crossbow-assisted kills in The Walking Dead, he also hosts Ride With Norman Reedus on AMC. And he’s not gonna stop there – he’s got his eye on another motorbike-themed gig, that of Marvel’s chopper-loving action hero Ghost Rider.

Since Nicolas Cage last played the burning skull vigilante Johnny Blaze in Columbia’s 2012 movie Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, the rights to the character have reverted back to Marvel Studios. The same thing happened to Daredevil and The Punisher, both of whom were quickly incorporated into the Netflix wing of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If Marvel Studios do attempt to revamp Ghost Rider, would Mr Reedus fancy the role? »

Walking Dead Star Norman Reedus Wants to Play Ghost Rider

9 June 2016 8:55 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Everyone knows Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, and while we are all awaiting to see who "Lucille" decided to pick on at the end of season 6, he is keeping himself busy. Reedus is currently out promoting his new show Ride With Norman Reedus and as it turns out, there is another comic book character he may want to play. When the subject came up, Reedus said that he would like to take on the role of Ghost Rider.

Reedus was doing an interview with Uproxx about his new show which will be airing on AMC starting on June 12 and at the end of the interview, the subject of a Ghost Rider reboot came up. He was asked point blank if he would like to take on the role of Johnny Blaze and was very enthusiastic about the prospect. Here is what Reedus had to say about the hypothetical opportunity. »

8 Movies We’re Excited to See at the 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival

The 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 1st, and this year’s Nightfall lineup looks to be yet another strong selection of genre films set to thrill festival-goers night after night.

For those of you in the southern California area, the 2016 Laff runs through Thursday, June 9th and is calling the ArcLight Culver City Cinema home this year. Here’s a look at what we’re anticipating once the Laff begins later this week, and for more information on the festival, please visit:

Abattoir (directed by Darren Lynn Bousman)

Full disclosure: Abattoir was edited by my significant other, so I am certainly biased, but my enthusiasm for the film comes from my excitement to see Bousman return to the hardboiled world of horror after working on The Devil’s Carnival musicals and his comedy-infused segment in last year’s Tales of Halloween anthology. »

Crank: revisiting a Jason Statham classic, 10 years on

It’s been 10 years since Neveldine/Taylor’s Crank was released. We look back at what might be Jason Statham’s best film...

Whenever we interview anyone for Den of Geek, we try to throw in a curveball of a final question by asking them, “What’s your favourite Jason Statham movie?” Obviously, there are plenty to choose from, but to date, the most common answer is Crank. Simon Pegg loves it. James McAvoy loves it. Rupert Grint loves it. The list goes on, and for good reason: it’s bonkers, and brilliant, and almost completely unique.

The contrivance that kickstarts Crank’s action is a great one: hitman Chev Chelios (The Statham, naturally) has been poisoned by a rival gangster, injected with a synthetic compound that blocks his adrenaline receptors. To stay alive, he’ll need to jack himself up with as many stimulants as possible. »

Star Wars Exclusive: Rogue One’s Darth Vader casting revealed

11 April 2016 1:15 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Following last month’s correct report on who Scoot McNairy was really playing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (spoilers: it wasn’t Jimmy Olsen or Metallo), we’ve now got a Star Wars exclusive for you this morning on the casting of Darth Vader.

It was reported last year that the Sith Lord would feature in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and that Hayden Christensen would be reprising the role for the movie. We teased last month that the rumour was correct, but Christensen would not be playing the part. That’s because our sources are telling us that in fact British actor Spencer Wilding has been cast to play the body of Darth Vader in Rogue One.

Wilding is mostly a stunt actor and has had bit parts in Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman Begins, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and Wrath of the Titans. We »

'Batman v Superman' is a truly unprecedented box office phenomenon and here's why

29 March 2016 4:29 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

When I asked a number of box office experts last week how those scathing reviews would affect Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's opening weekend gross, all of them agreed that the effect on the film's commercial prospects would likely be negligible (at least in the early going). And guess what? They were right! Despite a dismal 28% "Rotten" score on Rotten Tomatoes, the superhero film felled a number of box office records in its debut.  Still, 28% is a truly awful score, and so I got curious: what previous superhero films have an even lower percentage on Rotten Tomatoes than the Zack Snyder-directed mashup? After a quick scan, here's the abysmal list I came up with: Fantastic Four (2005) 27% Punisher: War Zone (2008) 27% Ghost Rider (2007) 26% Green Lantern (2011) 26% Blade: Trinity (2004) 25% Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) 21% Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) 21% Spawn (1997) 19% Judge Dredd (1995) 18% Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012) 17% Superman III (1983) 17% Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie »
