Sex & Nudity

  • A drunk man is made over as in clown makeup and dressed as a woman with a pastie on his nipple. He's later informed they shaved his testicles as part of the makeover. An allusion to the fact that while drunk he also supposedly had sex with one circus women is made, though the storyteller is suspect.
  • A married men brags in public about having had sex with his wife the night before.
  • In a motel room, a man and woman embrace and then kiss. He begins to undress her. He removes his shirt. Sex is presumed. No explicit nudity.
  • A man looks at an old black and white porn magazine. We can breasts from two women in the magazine for a few seconds.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is instructed to throw food into a lion's cage. When he does, the lion becomes aggressive and bites his arm, with him falling back in fear. However, he is told the lion has no teeth and therefore he is not wounded, just shocked.
  • An elephant is stabbed when not doing what she's meant to do. This is very depressing and hard to watch.
  • Several dead and bloodied bodies are shown, although only one death is shown on-screen.
  • A man is whacked across the head by metal stick, killing him. Blood is shown trickling down his face, and his eyes are wide open.

Profanity

  • Terms like 'arse' and 'bastard' used infrequently. 'goddamn' used twice

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol use and smoking throughout. Some characters, one in particular, drink so heavily that they behave violently.
  • Heavy doses of whiskey are used to treat a badly beaten elephant. The man who is treating the animal is seen drinking it straight from the bottle.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A very emotional movie.
  • Scenes of animal cruelty may be too intense for younger viewers.

Violence & Gore

  • A number of wild animals are released and chase down a crowd. None of them are actually shown tackled down and hurt, there's just an overall sense of panic as they run.
  • A man walks into a mortuary, it is implied he is there to identify someone he knows. A later shot in the scene shows two people dead beneath white sheets, but from a great distance, and no blood or gore is shown.
  • A women is being choked by a man with a pole or stick held over her throat. She is visibly choking, which may be shocking to some viewers, but it does not result in her death.
  • Animal attacks are shown. People are being attacked or chased by animals but no blood is shown.
