Storyline

A wholesale customer, who is in the market for a large order of goods, writes identical notes to the two concerns who have hidden for it, promising his order, as the prices and quality are the same, to whichever representative reaches him first. Blinks and Jinks, the two salesmen, both resourceful "knights of the grip" and both confident of success, leave their respective offices and meet at the railroad depot, where they discover that their missions are identical. They then and there begin a contest of wits to win the coveted prize. Blinks, having purchased his ticket first, is awaiting his competitor in order that he may keep an eye on him. His ticket, held carelessly in his hand, is stolen from him by a pickpocket, whom he chases, but of no avail. Realizing that he might miss his train, he rushes madly back just in time to catch the train as it is pulling out. Not wishing to pay his fare twice, he slips into the seat with Jinks and while the latter's attention is momentarily ... Written by Moving Picture World synopsis
