Pleasant -- Suitable for the Family
mike-simpkins2 May 2015
A twenty-something, sweet, single woman is shot in a convenience store robbery and goes into a coma, where she struggles with death on numerous occasions. Miraculously, she wakes up and spends the rest of the movie coming to terms with her injury and with the second life she has been given.

This is a "nice" movie: it is pleasant, nicely shot and well executed for an independent film. At times, the acting is superb. At times, it is borders on amateurish (hey, everyone needs to get a start somewhere). The lead performers do a fine job.

I could write on and on about potential religious messages or themes one could make out of the movie -- but that would not be fair to the writer or the director. The movie purposely avoids making any claims on behalf of any religion. Instead, the viewers are left to form their own meanings following the conclusion of the movie.

The plot of the film is relatively simple. It could stand as a moving story of faith in miracles, suitable for the entire family. There is no swearing or inappropriate content in the film, save for a small scene in which a character is being resuscitated and during resuscitation, her breasts are visible (A+ for being realistic, however it was unnecessary given the G nature of the rest of the film).

For a low-budget independent film, this film is well-shot (and at times beautifully shot), well- directed and well-acted. The soundtrack has a few beautiful pieces, with the rest complementing the film well. The director and cast tell the story without any necessary violence or gratuitous sexuality.

Thought Provoking Movie...
waynesavage-909-1290626 December 2014
A bad guy with a gun attempts to rob a grocery store owned by Stellina's friend. Stellina takes a bullet in the belly and ends up hospitalized in a coma for the next month.

When she awakens from her coma her doctor tells her that hospital staff gave her the nickname of 'Stellina Blue' because she broke the hospital record for surviving Code Blue's, the previous record was three, Stellina survived nine Code Blues while comatose. She awoke with a special gift, no spoilers here.

The acting and writing in Stellina Blue is pretty good. It wasn't a 'great' movie but I can't say anything bad about it. I reserve the higher ratings of 9 and 10 for masterpieces. This was a good solid thought provoking movie that will leave you in discussions about our purpose in life.

This movie really impressed me!

I saw this movie at the Gig Harbor Film Festival and could not stop thinking about it. It is a movie with a lot of heart and a message that stays with you afterward. The lead actors, Christina Mauro and Chris Kramer, deliver performances that are nuanced and understated, but powerful. Their performances stayed with me and kept me thinking about the movie's theme of change and growth, and how it may apply to my life. It is an original story that doesn't easily fit into any narrow category. Discovering movies like this is one of the things that I love about independent cinema. I can't recommend this movie highly enough. If you have an opportunity to see it, please do!

Entertaining and Well-Executed

Stellina Blue was entertaining and well-executed. The story is unique and engaging. I found myself going through my mind's index of plots and endings in an attempt to guess what would happen next, but Stellina Blue is original.

The movie is an excellent example of Christina Mauro's deep talent. She is convincing as the lead actor - even made me cry! The casting was right on. It was nice to see a mixed cast of both new and established actors.

This is a must-see (even a must-see-twice). I just wish it was more widely available!

One of Life's Biggest Questions....
slaveofthegov4 May 2009
This feature was well produced and turned out beautifully. The intriguing storyline kept me involved in the film and eagerly awaiting the answer to one of life's biggest questions.

The film was well cast with each character complementing the others as well as the storyline. The chemistry between the two leading actors was flawless and helped to add that little extra something to this film.

This film did not disappoint. I don't want to spoil the film so I will simply state that this is a must see!!!! So what "life's biggest question" is answered in this film? As I stated earlier you must see it for yourself and come up with your own conclusions.
