The very first God of War game established that killing a God is a very difficult process if you are a mortal. Kratos had to spend an entire game searching out something just to become strong enough to even have a chance at killing Ares. However, in this game, which takes place before the events of the first one, Kratos is able to kill Persephone without much fanfare without having to seek out some special power to do it. See more
