A mediocre introduction
jonathanamichaels30 March 2020
This first episode wasn't the worst thing I have seen this year, but it definitely didn't impress. None of the characters are at all likable so the audience doesn't end up forming a connection with them and ultimately doesn't care what happens to them. It reminds me of Stargate Universe. I really wanted that show to be good, but bland, one dimensional characters ruined any attempt to watch it. We will see if this show fares any better.

A Royal Ass-Kicking
Prismark1015 April 2020
A comic strip adaptation. Initially this is Star Wars meets Red Dwarf, well the special effects look on the cheap side.

Elida (Adriyan Rae) is a no nonsense kick ass scavenger. However the forces of the Republic are searching for her.

Some flashbacks sketch out her backstory.

It turns out that Elida is the last of her royal line and there are people who want her to retake her throne. Elida starts her journey.

The first episode is colourful, energetic and certainly cheesy.

The fun is looking for all the different kinds of inspirations for the show. The Fifth Element, Guardian of the Galaxy and even Spaceballs. There is a character inspired by John Candy's mog.

It is not a show to take too seriously as long as it maintains its pace.

well.. idk

This show basically starts off with 'forced' comedy, they obviously over playing it and I guess some folks like that, i like when it's funny, but this was just bland and stupid. But i thought it had potential, but then they basically gave away the love interest story line and there was ridiculous batter that made no sense just for the sake of making the 'bad guys' look incompetent. Well, Scify is hit or miss. Apparently there is a novel or comic, so I would guess there is a fan base, so this may go 3 or 4 seasons. I remember seeing Wynona Earp and liking it, but then it went off the rails, funny one of the actors is on this show. i could not relate to any of the characters, again maybe I have seen too much sci fi in my life. I feel not for me, but I will give it a few more eps.

Dont waste your time

Do NOT invest your time in this junk. Syfy "trying to be hip and funny" really means clunky dialogue, acting and .. well everything else horrendous. Save yourself the horror.

Promising & funny Start

The production value might not be over the top, but this feels fresh & funny. A show that doesn't take itself too seriously, with a little Farscape & Firefly vibe. It has action, it has various different aliens, it is fast paced, it has humour (like Guardians of the Galaxy), and I like the actors in their roles. So... a promising start

what is wrong with those people?

I see there some 10/10 in the ratings.. is this really the world we came to?wouldn't even know where to begin. had to turn off this garbage after almost exactly 2 minutes, because I *really* do not want to gauge my eyes out. for people with eyes AND brain: if you have seen trailer and thought: "this is bad" - stay away as far as possible from this. when I'm truly desperate AND in suicidal mood - I may consider *trying to* watch this again.

All hail the Queen

An adaptation of an independent comics so obscure that I've not heard of it - and I read a lot of comics - this sees a space scavenger who tries to run from her past. But finds you can't when destiny comes calling.

Sy fy had Killjoys for five years. Which perfectly balanced light character moments with humour, good emotional moments getting serious when it needed to, and good action. Can this fill the void left by that finishing?

Yes it can.

It had me from the off. The opening caption, to be exact. Then the tone of what follows is just right, doing everything that made Killjoys great, but managing to be it's own show as well.

It uses it's budget superbly, never looking cheap. The acting is decent. The characterisation is strong. The flashbacks don't introduce. And there's some great alien make up as well.

A pilot that hits the ground running, and makes me want to watch more. An excellent start.

This is better than Star Trek Discovery because is funny .
batmanforever-9324929 March 2020
This episode looks like a mix between Star Trek Discovery ,Star Trek Picard ,Avenue 5 and The Orville and if you consider this to be just a parody ,it is not so bad ,unleast this show it doesn't stab nobody in the heart ,like Star Trek Discovery did with the fans,so this show should have a better rank than Star Trek Discovery.
