Shia LaBeouf stated that during filming an F.B.I. Agent told him and the cast that 1 in every 5 phone calls someone makes is recorded. To prove this, the agent had him listen to a phone call he made 2 years prior to filming.
ARIIA is voiced by Julianne Moore, who chose to go uncredited.
According to Shia LaBeouf, in order to become emotional for Ethan's funeral scene, he listened to Judy Garland's "Over The Rainbow" in which he stated that he "breaks down" when hearing that song.
The film takes place in January because this is when the State of the Union address, key to the plot of the film, is traditionally held every year.
The design of Eagle Eye is extremely similar to the detection arrays for a Neutrino Detector - rows upon rows of orange glass globes in an underground, water filled bunker.
According to dates on security cameras seen on-screen, the film takes place in late January 2009.
Was the first film released in September since Sweet Home Alabama (2002) to gross over 100 million dollars.
This film's events occur in January 2009, centering around the US president's annual State of the Union address. A presidential election would've just occurred in November 2008, meaning this particular State of the Union is taking place just days after being newly inaugurated on January 20th (or, re-inaugurated, in the case of being re-elected). In years when a new president is inaugurated, the outgoing president may deliver a final State of the Union message, but none has done so since ;Jimmy Carter (I)' sent a written message in 1981. In 1953 and 1961, Congress received both a written State of the Union message from the outgoing president and a separate State of the Union speech by the incoming president. Since 1989, in recognition that the responsibility of reporting the State of the Union formally belongs to the president who held office during the past year, newly inaugurated Presidents have not officially called their first speech before Congress a "State of the Union" message. Since this speech is taking place mere days after an inauguration and is being called the "State of the Union", it implies that the sitting president was the one in office during the initial drone strike in Afghanistan and was also re-elected in November.

The trivia items below may give away important plot points.

ARIIA appears to be based upon a "black" program through the National Security Agency which is believed to be a large computer program that monitors and records phone calls by listening in for key words related to terrorism and the like.
Eagle Eye is very much like I Robot, and how a AI, artificial intelligence machine, malfunctions, and starts trying to kill people. Shia LaBeouf also has a small role in I Robot in 2004, four Years before he did Eagle Eye.
