Well the present storyline on this site didn't get the plot right. The guy did kidnap the little girl as an agreement with a gang, and he's supposed to be just the warder. Agreement seems to be about a flash kidnap but things don't go as planned, time goes on and the guy finds himself more and more in a dangerous and blurry situation.

The movie is quite simple but the characters are developed enough to keep attention alive, despite slow action. One would expect some kind of very animated scenes to counter at some point the general feeling of emptiness, but that doesn't happen. Everything is somehow realistically not very eventful - in the end the story is about empty hours of warding a kidnap victim on a situation which does not develop as it should.

Main characters, including the little girl, do act pleasantly. The few others just manage to look weird or plain ridiculous.

The relationship between the victim and her warder builds up in quite a predictable way, but it's treated lightly enough. The guy is in the middle of a personal crisis on many levels, the little girl doesn't feel loved and she's probably right, actually nobody seems to be willing to pay her ransom.

In the end, one feels for them and hopes for the best, and is kept mildly entertained all the while. The general grace the main characters are treated with would allow for the like of 6 stars, but the movie's end bares very little credibility, so part of the experience is ruined.

Actually, I even thought the end sequence's B&W scenes to be just a dream the guy was having to set that against the reality of the horrible thing he was set to do. That would have made for a bitter but somehow more interesting finale.

Instead, what you see is what's supposed to really happen in the end. I'm fond of the main characters so I'll give it 5 stars.
