Episode cast overview:
James Ellison (credit only)

With Derek Reese severely injured, John calls on Sarah's former fiancé Charlie Dixon, an EMT, to provide medical assistance. Sarah finds herself having to explain where she has been for the last 8 years and just who Derek is and where he is from. In flashbacks (of a sort) we learn of Derek's life in the future as a resistance fighter, his relationship with John Connor, and of his travel back in time with a team sent to help Sarah and John. Derek doesn't know that his brother Kyle is John's father. Written by garykmcd

Did You Know?

Sarah's closing narration, outlining how a terminator can not be deterred from its mission, was indeed said by Kyle to Sarah in the first Terminator movie. Kyle did say, "the terminator is out there," rather than, "the machine is out there," but after all those years, Sarah can surely be forgiven for not getting it verbatim. See more »

If Sarah's blood-type is O-negative, then it is impossible for her to have a son that is AB-negative. Assuming that Kyle was AB-negative like Derek, then John could only be A- or B-negative; not even O-negative. Also, either John or Sarah should have been able to give Derek her blood, as she is a near universal donor, Derek is a near universal acceptor and they all have the same Rh factor. See more »

[first lines]
Sarah Connor: [narrates] On the night we first met, John's father, Kyle Reese, told me words I remember to this day. He meant them as a warning. I think of them as words to live by. He told me of an apocalypse yet to come. Like a Pandora's box, he unpacked every horror, every evil, every dark thing that haunts our future. He also left me an unborn son, to whom he bequeathed what remained in the box after the nightmares fled: hope.

Reasonable Only
2 February 2009 | by (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) – See all my reviews

John calls the EMT Charley Dixon to help Derek Reese, who is bleeding and near death, needing a blood transfusion. John donates his blood and saves Derek, while Charley asks for explanations to Sarah. Meanwhile Derek dreams with his last days in the future, when his group was captured and tortured by the machines.

In this reasonable episode, Sarah discloses her knowledge of the fate of the human beings to Charlie. Derek recalls in flashback what has happened with his team. Cameron destroys the skeleton of a Terminator, but keeps a part hidden with her. My vote is six.
