The really interesting thing about this second broadcast of 'Amahl" is the interview with Menotti that follows it. The previous year Menotti had introduced the first broadcast. Talking to the camera he seems gauche and awkward. After the 1952 broadcast he is seen talking to actress Sarah Churchill (who had introduced the opera) and is more relaxed this time. When she says to him that 'Amahl' seems like becoming a Christmas tradition he replies he was more afraid that viewers might tire of it!
