Earlier this month, RiffTrax, which is owned by the guys behind "Mystery Science Theater 3000," asked its users to vote for the Worst Movie of All Time. IGN then stepped in and urged its users to visit the site and vote. After several weeks, over 500,000 people voted and RiffTrax now has a list consisting of 25 movies. Taking first place is "The Twilight Saga" with 35,593 votes. "Batman and Robin" took second place, followed by "Catwoman." The list is filled with some terrible films, but also movies that were considered disappointing that probably don't deserve to be among the worst movies of all time. Check out the full list below. 1. Dubai Review: Chaos, Disorder (Harag W' Marag)

18 December 2012 11:24 AM, PST | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

An edgy, in-your-face sketch of Egypt’s lower depths, Chaos, Disorder can’t help but resonate with the times and thus generated a good amount of critical buzz at its Dubai festival premiere. Director Nadine Khan, a short filmmaker and well-known A.D. (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) whose father is the noted director Mohamed Khan, makes her feature film bow with a story set in a poor but lively Cairo neighborhood, a kind of exotic Bronx where two tough youths vie for a girl and scores are settled on the football field. Mark Wahlberg discusses Transformers 4

16 December 2012 3:40 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

When it was first revealed that Paramount Pictures planned to follow in the footsteps of Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man by giving the Transformers movie series an overhaul for its fourth instalment, many fans were hoping to see a new director given the chance to realise their vision for the Robots in Disguise, only for Michael Bay to subsequently sign on to personally oversee the revamp himself alongside Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon screenwriter Ehren Kruger.

However, while the behind-the-scenes team on the as yet-untitled Transformers sequel looks very familiar, the director will be ditching the likes of Shia Labeouf, Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro and Tyrese Gibson in favour of a new cast of human characters, which is set to be headed up by Bay's new buddy Mark Wahlberg - the star of the forthcoming bodybuilding action comedy Pain and Gain. Bjarne Melgaard: A New Novel by Bjarne Melgaard Luxembourg & Dayan Through December 22, 2012   I open one eye. Sunlight pours in through my Zaha Hadid-designed venetian blinds, casting horizontal shadows on the walls, turning the room into a recumbent prison cell. I was supposed to meet James Franco (who is still a little sore at me for beating him out for the part of Cocktimus Prime in Sue de Beer's hardcore version of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) in Central Park an hour ago, but my Philippe Starck alarm clock (which I fully believe is haunted) failed to wake me.    I open both eyes, decide that it is probably safe, and dress quickly: black crinolined Brioni smoking jacket, Hello Kitty T-shirt, baby seal-skin pants, and boots hand-carved in Brazilian rosewood (by some guy in Tokyo, whose name is comprised entirely of consonants and who has a nine-year waiting list) which resemble small cats, »

Film Review: Red Dawn

22 November 2012 3:33 AM, PST | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

The 2012 remake of Red Dawn is not the worst movie of the year, but it has little going for it. Directed by veteran stunt coordinator Dan Bradley (Spider-Man 2, The Bourne Legacy), this action movie stars a bevy of young actors, angry Chinese people disguised as North Koreans, and a lot of action-packed sequences.

This film is a remake of the 1984 Red Dawn, which starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen as two teenagers who were part of a group of high-schoolers that bound together to fight against a foreign military that invaded their hometown. In similar fashion, Bradley’s version follows the story of a group of teenagers who survive a massive foreign invasion, and escape into the woods where they train to fight the enemy.

Before we discuss who the bad guy is (this time around), let’s talk about the impressive cast. Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth stars as the brave Jed Eckert, »

Movie Review: Red Dawn (2012)

19 November 2012 2:13 PM, PST | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Remaking beloved classic films is a dangerous job for directors and studios. Many times they find themselves treading on what is considered hallowed ground. The latest trend in revisiting old material is to take a concept from an old movie and loosely use it as the framework for something new yet familiar. A good example of this approach working is Fright Night. We can now add Red Dawn to the list of successful updates.

Everyone knows the basic premise of Red Dawn. The United States is invaded by a foreign country and certain regions are annexed. Some citizens go on living their lives in oppression while others are sent to re-education camps. A group of high schoolers escape and wage war on the military forces occupying their territory. They must find a way to free the enslaved people and retake their hometown.

God Bless America ... and Our 'Red Dawn' Giveaway

14 November 2012 11:00 AM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

It's your patriotic duty to enter this giveaway.

We're psyched for the new "Red Dawn." Russians have been replaced with North Koreans ("red" denotes communism in general, ya know — communism that needs to be shot and blown up!). Small-town Colorado has been replaced with small-town Washington. And Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Kerri Green and Lea Thompson have been replaced with Thor, Peeta Mellark, Lady Jaye and the hot Decepticon co-ed from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Who better to defend our country, after all?

However, to truly appreciate the new "Red" vision, we must first honor the original. And five lucky winners are going to get to take home the remastered Blu-ray of the 1984 cult classic about a group of teenagers (Go Wolverines!) who rise up against the entire Russian army (hey, things seemed bigger back in the '80s) when the Evil Empire dares invade our soil. Director Michael Bay says Boogie Nights star will 'reinvigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers legacy'

Mark Wahlberg has been confirmed as the new lead in Michael Bay's fourth and final Transformers movie. Bay announced on his website that the star of Boogie Nights and The Departed had been given the role following a successful stint on his bodybuilding-themed action comedy Pain & Gain.

"Mark is awesome," wrote Bay on Thursday. "We had a blast working on Pain & Gain and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his calibre is the perfect guy to reinvigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers legacy."

Wahlberg replaces Shia Labeouf, who starred in the first three Transformers films but made the decision to step away from the series following 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Labeouf described the third film as "crap" and the experience of »

Mark Wahlberg Confirmed For ‘Transformers 4′ & A New Logo

9 November 2012 12:00 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

At the end of October it was rumoured that Mark Wahlberg would be joining the funky bunch known as The Autobots and The Decpticons in Michael Bay’s fourth outing in the Transformers universe. The two have just completed filming on Pain And Gain, but Bay originally denied rumours of Wahlberg appearing in Transformers 4, saying that the two were discussing an entirely different project. Now Bay claims that after the rumours, he went on to dream up a part for Wahlberg. There is now an official conformation via Bay’s own personal blog, that Wahlberg will indeed be starring in Transformers 4.

I do love a bit of Mark Wahlberg, and much prefer the idea of an adult lead in a Transformers film, even if it is for kids. Despite this, can a change of cast really rescue the franchise from the levels of idiocy and dire film making »
