Trivia

The show had been in negotiations among the Tiswas stars for around 2 years before it was finally agreed upon. The plan was that if all agreed, they would go ahead. If a single person disagreed, they wouldn't go through with it. The BBC aired 'It Started with Swap Shop' in December 2006, making it appear as though ITV rushed out a copycat idea, despite 'Tiswas Reunited' being conceived back in early 2005. See more »

Tiswas Reunited
25 June 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I wasn't alive when Tiswas was on TV, but it looked like a programme I would have liked as a kid, particularly because it was the early appearances for some great TV personalities. This hour special reunited all members of the popular Saturday morning kids show, including hosts, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'s Chris Tarrant and Sally James, along with co-acts Bob Carolgees, John Gorman, the mysterious and masked, never identified Flan Flinger, and of course, Lenny Henry. They did a lot of funny things with water and Gunge, the same in the old clips, and brought back many popular moments. My favourite moments were bringing back Sir Trevor McDonald to remind him of the moment he met Henry's Trevor McDoughnut, and Henry's David Bellamy character, the nature presenter with a speech impediment, meeting the David Bellamy. Guests on this special night included Sylvester McCoy, Frank Carson and Status Quo, with contributions and audience members Anthony McPartlin, Declan Donnely, Jim Davidson, Richard McCourt (Dick), Stephen Mulhern, Joe Pasquale, Sir Cliff Richard, Toyah Willcox and Dominic Wood (Dom). Very good!
