Much like this film, The Paul Collins Beat has a cult following around the world, with more than 14 albums to their name. Although they relocated to New York City, The Paul Collins Beat formed in 1977 in Los Angeles, California. The Paul Collins Beat toured with famous acts such as The Cure, Devo and The Jam and continues to tour nowadays as a functional rock band.Before The Beat, Paul Collins was a founder member of rock group The Nerves with Jack Lee and Peter Case from 1974-1977. The Nerves toured with The Ramones, funding their own tours self-releasing the vinyl containing the song Hanging On The Telephone, a hit single later covered by Blondie on the "Parallel Lines" album.
