Concept started when Mary C. Ferrara posted her demo reel noting she didn't have a lot of recent comedic footage. Other actresses chimed in that they would love to do more comedy and so Mary decided to write a script using the actresses. The script evolved over a year, becoming much more character driven.
The character of Young Lorraine is the most inspired by Writer/Director Mary C. Ferrara's time as a teenager.
The Lion's Den Thrift Store in Warren, RI, where the flashback scenes were filmed, closed down for real during the pandemic. The store's location was the location of the very first Brown University graduation, back when it was called "Rhode Island College" (its name from 1764-1804).
