Storyline

With the town's second murder in a week, Jason is again the number one suspect, but Tara provides him with an alibi. Knowing that both Maudette and Dawn had frequented the Fangtasia vampire club, Sookie asks Bill to take her there as she tries to find evidence that will clear her brother. Both of the dead girls were well known at the club and Sookie meets Eric, the vampire elder. Sam Merlotte seems to have a few eccentricities of his own. Jason buys vampire blood - an aphrodisiac - from Tara's cousin Lafayette and despite clear instructions to never take more than one or two drop at any one time, downs the entire vial with somewhat painful results. When Bill says that puns used to be the highest form of humor he is referring to a similar statement made by Alfred Hitchcock in a 1972 interview ("Puns are the highest form of literature"). See more »

Goofs

The "Young Jason" has blue eyes while the the adult Jason has brown eyes. However, the scene is when Tara flashes back to when she was a child running away from her mother and seeking sanctuary with Sookie and her grandmother so it is possible that this is an indication of how Tara remembers the scene rather than being presented as an accurate version of what Jason was like. Life can be very hard for a stud.

When in the world are Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) going to kiss? It almost happened in this episode if it hadn't been for that redneck cop. Maybe next time.

We finally got a visit to Fangtasia. It really seems like a cool place to go except for the fact that it is in Shreveport. I can assure you there are bloodsuckers in Shreveport. I spent a week there and used several cans of deet to keep them off me.

Ir really like the fact that Tara (Rutina Wesley) is getting meatier roles. She has a certain je ne se quoi that makes her fun to watch. She really has a thing for Jason (Ryan Kwanten), who has managed to get himself in trouble again after another girl dies. He swallowed a whole vial of V (a veiled reference to Viagra?) in the arrest process, and has that thing they warn you about in the Cialis commercials. Those that might think that an erection lasting several hours is a blessing would do well to see this episode.

We learn that Tara and Jason go way back to their childhood. It appears that Captain Morgan is not just fun and parties.

Can't wait for the next episode.
