Javier Beltrán, Robert Pattinson in Little Ashes Paul Morrison’s Little Ashes, starring Robert Pattinson as Salvador Dali (!), won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film — Limited release dealing with gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered people. The other nominees in that category were Casi Divas, The Country Teacher, Phoebe in Wonderland, and The Secrets. Written by Philippa Goslett, Little Ashes depicts a purported romance between Dali and left-wing poet Federico García Lorca (played by Javier Beltrán), with Lorca feeling comfortable about his sexual orientation and Dali all conflicted about it. The former was later murdered during the Spanish Civil War, while the later became a successful artist and radical right-winger. Matthew McNulty plays Luis Buñuel in the film. 2010 GLAAD Awards Honors Robert Pattinson's 'Little Ashes'

Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has, on Saturday, March 13, handed out 24 of this year's 32 kudos at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. During a presentation taking place at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, it was unraveled that "Little Ashes" is among those receiving the honors.

The drama movie starring "Twilight Saga" heartthrob Robert Pattinson won Outstanding Film in the category of Limited Release. The Paul Morrison-directed movie came out triumphant over four other indie movies, "Phoebe in Wonderland", "Casi Divas", "The Country Teacher" and "The Secrets".

Other winner announced on the night were ABC's "Brothers & Sisters", NBC's "Parks and Recreation" as well as "The Oprah Winfrey Show". "Brothers" was named Outstanding Drama Series and "Parks" got the nod for Outstanding Individual Episode, while "Oprah" won Outstanding Talk Show Episode.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the nation.s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (Lgbt) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, has announced the nominees for its 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

In the Outstanding Film - Wide Release category, the nominees are "Everybody's Fine," "I Love You Man," "Precious," "A Single Man" and "Taking Woodstock."

For the Limited Release category, "Casi Divas," "The Country Teacher," "Little Ashes," "Phoebe in Wonderland" and "The Secrets" will duke it out for the award.

Winners will be announced at the GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies to be held March 13 in New York, April 17 in L.A. and June 5 in San Francisco.

"Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon will receive the Vito Russo Award.
