Inconfessable Orgies of Jess, The (2007)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

This featurette was originally on the DVD release of Jess Franco's THE INCONFESSABLE ORGIES OF EMMANUELLE. The title itself is what Franco starts off talking about as he makes it very clear that it was never his intent to make an Emanuelle film and that if you listen to the original Spanish audio tracks that the name isn't even used. Franco explains that producers knew the name would draw people to the film so he was forced to use it. The legendary Spanish director goes over a lot of history about the making of the film including using Muriel Montosse in the lead. Franco clearly has high respect for her and he also explains why she used the name Vicky Adams here and in other films. During a majority of the 17-minute running time Franco appears to be playing Dr. Phil as he talks about love and even tries to explain what is going on in a woman's mind when she's raped. There's a key rape scene in the film and Franco tries to give his thoughts on how this could effect a woman. Other subjects include the sex scene in the film that was shot inside a wax museum and Franco discusses why Americans are so old-fashioned when it comes to actresses who appear in sex films.
