I have not seen other episodes of this show yet. I and my fiancée watched this together, and as it should, it sparked a debate. This is one of the efforts to raise awareness about Islam, and part of what it has going for it is that the host, and presumably writer, Irshad Manji, actually does love it. She just doesn't agree with what it currently is. There are some startling and interesting facts revealed, about what it used to be, how different it was. As my wife-to-be puts it, this leaves you with one question in the viewer's head: what happened? Irshad is a great driving force in this, makes rather spot-on and well-composed, well-thought out points and counters her interviewees(well-selected, and she doesn't seem to duck a fight) well, and challenges, never patronizes. Little(if anything) is done to highlight the book authored by her. We are taken through multiple, international locations and various people and their relationship with the religion. This is a well-done documentary, and ought to inspire discussion in anyone. I recommend this to all who appreciate food for thought in their programming, and/or who like Manji(I count myself as one such person now, and I didn't actually know her before this). 8/10
