Jennifer Lawrence Gets Emotional About Nude Photo Hack: ‘It Was So Unbelievably Violating’
Jennifer Lawrence is still recovering three years after hackers posted her private nude photos online.

In 2014, the mother! star was one of hundreds of celebrities whose photos were stolen during a breach of Apple’s iCloud service. “When the hacking thing happened, it was so unbelievably violating that you can’t even put it into words,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

“I think that I’m still actually processing it,” she added. “When I first found out it was happening, my security reached out to me. It was happening minute-to-minute — it was almost like a ransom situation where they were

‘Lady Bird’: Inside Saoirse Ronan and Greta Gerwig’s Skype Sessions and Rehearsals to Create Their Lovably Lost Heroine
Early in Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age charmer “Lady Bird,” eponymous leading lady Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) is asked by a teacher if her preferred nickname is actually her given name (it is, of course, not). Chin set, shoulders back, she declares, “I gave it to myself. It’s given to me by me.” That’s Lady Bird’s entire ethos in a nutshell.

Gerwig’s film – her solo directorial debut, which she also wrote – follows Lady Bird through her senior year at the insular Immaculate Heart High School, a private Catholic institution in the suburbs of Sacramento that doesn’t really suit her sensibilities. As Lady Bird, Ronan is all energy and spirit and angst, an eye-rolling teen on the cusp of something new, something more, just something else. She doesn’t have it all figured out, and she doesn’t have to.

“She was this girl who was going to do something,

Rich pickings: how Hollywood rivals will profit from Weinstein's downfall

Competitors are moving to snap up the imploding independent studio’s back catalogue, but the assets cannot be fully valued until the scandal subsides

The death knell may have sounded over The Weinstein Company (TWC) name but Hollywood rivals believe the business has a secure future – without its disgraced co-founder – due to a legacy of hits including The King’s Speech and Silver Linings Playbook, as well as a strong slate of upcoming releases.

The independent studio, mired in the Harvey Weinstein abuse scandal, has put itself up for sale and this week TWC secured an emergency injection of cash from private equity firm Colony Capital, which is also in talks to buy all or part of the business. Last year, Weinstein said that the business, including its library, was worth up to $800m (£600m) and had no debt. What is certain now, however, is that the brand is worthless.

Jennifer Lawrence Says She Was Asked By a Producer to 'Lose 15 Pounds' After Doing a 'Nude Line-Up'
Jennifer Lawrence revealed exclusively to Et's Carly Steel that she is focused on "creating a community" of support for women in Hollywood after her own experiences with sexism in the industry.

At Monday night's Elle's 24th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration, presented in part by L'Oreal Paris and Calvin Klein, the Oscar winner gave an empowering speech where she revealed that the producers of one of her first films asked her to quickly lose weight and subjected her to an uncomfortable audition process.

"When I was much younger and starting out, I was told by producers of a film to lose 15 pounds in two weeks," she recalled, noting that another actress had already been fired for not slimming down fast enough. "During this time, a female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much, thinner than me. We all stood side-by-side with only tape on covering our privates."

Jennifer Lawrence to Receive Sherry Lansing Leadership Award

Lawrence in “American Hustle

Jennifer Lawrence is following in the footsteps of women like Tina Fey, Helen Mirren, Halle Berry, Barbra Streisand, and Shonda Rhimes. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Lawrence will be the youngest person to receive its Sherry Lansing Leadership Award. The honor is given each year to “a woman who has been a pioneer and philanthropic leader in her industry.” Lawrence will be presented with the award at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women in Entertainment breakfast on December 6 at Milk Studios in La.

The Oscar-winning actress donated $2 million to start the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Her foundation also supports various philanthropic endeavors such as education, health services, and support of abused and neglected youth. In addition to being a vocal advocate for gender equality in Hollywood, Lawrence is on the board of Represent.Us, an anti-corruption organization that unites individuals across the ideological spectrum in order to reform U.S. politics.

“Having Jennifer agree to accept the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award is a wonderful honor,” emphasized Lansing, former CEO of Paramount Pictures and the first woman to head a Hollywood studio. “In merely a decade, her remarkable professional achievements, her willingness to take risks, and her philanthropic generosity have inspired millions. She reminds young women all over the world that their voices are meant to be heard. The Hollywood Reporter could not have chosen a better individual to recognize.”

Lawrence won an Oscar for portraying a young, volatile widow in “Silver Linings Playbook.” The “Hunger Games” franchise, the “X-Men” franchise, “Joy,” and “American Hustle” are among her other credits. You catch Lawrence in theaters now as a woman terrorized by houseguests from hell in the controversial “mother!” Next, she’ll star as a woman forced to become a spy in “Red Sparrow,” out March 2.

Ghostbusters” producer Amy Pascal will be honored at the Women in Entertainment breakfast, too. She’ll receive the second annual Equity in Entertainment Award. The accolade is granted to “an individual in the show business community who has proved committed to providing opportunities for women and people of color.” Meryl Streep will present Pascal with the award, which recognizes the work Pascal Pictures does to ensure equal opportunity for women and people of color. Pascal’s next film, Jessica Chastain-starrer “Molly’s Game,” hits select theaters Christmas Day.

“Both Jennifer and Amy perfectly embody the driving force behind THR’s Women in Entertainment initiative,” said Matthew Belloni, the publication’s editorial director. “They continue to use their voices and their talent to create opportunities for women in the industry, and I can’t think of two more deserving individuals to honor.”

Angelina Jolie, whose war film “First They Killed My Father” was recently selected as Cambodia’s foreign-language Oscar submission, will deliver the event’s keynote speech. THR also plans to present $1 million in university scholarships to the young women participating in its Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program. Eighteen mentorship participants will receive $10,000 to attend the college of her choosing, while two others will receive full-ride scholarships to Loyola Marymount University.

Jennifer Lawrence to Receive Sherry Lansing Leadership Award was originally published in Women and Hollywood on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Academy Governors Debate Revoking Harvey Weinstein’s Membership — Exclusive
Two Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences governors told me that Academy board members are discussing whether Harvey Weinstein should continue as a member. An impromptu board meeting is expected sometime this week. It’s worth noting that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences board of governors is now one-third female, with members who include Whoopi Goldberg, Kimberly Peirce, and Christina Kounelias.

This would be a stunning reversal: By the count of The Weinstein Company’s website, his companies earned 303 Oscar nominations and 75 wins over three decades. Harvey could be the butt of Oscar jokes, but historically was the second most-thanked person in acceptance speeches, after Steven Spielberg.
