I love kids, I love drag. I wanted to love this...
becarefulchuck30 June 2020
Two of the four children featured were very naughty and hard to watch. One obviously has some emotional and or psychological issues that need serious attention. The other just needs a spanking. Of the remaining two nice children, one seems so very terrified of the spotlight and completely out of his element, despite how much his parents insist that this is what he loves to do.

While I do compliment the families of these children for having open minds and hearts, I can't help but question their motivation. Experimenting with make up and clothing is totally cool. And letting them participate is a ball is awesome! But watching a child in drag rolling around on the floor of a bar making eyes at old men putting back brown bottles gives me ALL of the cringes.

This is not OK

You're not helping children by encouraging this kind of nonsense. Glamorizing immoral behavior, especially in children, is a road to destruction.

Not cool
justinwidener7025 May 2020
This is ridiculous. At one point the mom says that people thinking this is sexualizing children is not true. Then next scene.....boom in a gay bar with adult males in dog masks, leather massless underwear and all that....how is this appropriate. I cant believe people think this is normal.

Sexualizing your preteen children is not healthy
xxdarkmetal23 April 2021
This is what is what is wrong with the western society.... Preteens barely even know their own bodies never mind their sexual preference. 100% bad parenting! This country is truly doomed.

Stop, just stop before it's to late. You don't want to go down this road. There's no coming back once you cross this line.

Warning: Spoilers
If this is going to be the future and for future generations to come then leave me out of it I would rather live under a dark cave and die when I was growing up I had never see anything like it it's so disturbing and very creepy to watch as 35 year old I wish I was living in 90s again.

Heart warming feel good movie about kids following their dream in spit of social norms.

Warning: Spoilers
As i said. Heart warming feel good movie about kids following their dream in spit of social norms. This really moved me. As an outcast kid i had simmular dreams of being able to be my self. This touched me and even drew a tear. I was taken on a while these brave boys followed their hopes and dreams just to fit in. They had a 'hyper feminen' girl doing drag with boys. I guess thats thought provoking because i have always felt drag was for gay men only. Not a tv show and not girls. This means i took something away to think about. Thinking about casually leting my grandson watch because of the way he expresses himself

Overall 10/10 loved it

If you don't learn to dance in the rain you're just gonna get wet and miserable!

If you don't learn to dance in the rain you're just gonna get wet and miserable! How can this not bring joy to you? Children happy doing what they love to do! I'm filled with joy that these kids won't grow up with issues or problems because they've at least been listened to when young. The youngsters have so much to give and are our future. I'd always opt for bright and cheerful and glitter over sadness and misery. I'm proud of all my kids. ALL OF THEM! We celebrate their differences because that's what life is all about. Respect and celebrate differences in people - we are all as individual as our fingerprints suggest. And those nay-sayers talking about sexuality - ONLY YOU BROUGHT THAT INTO THIS ISSUE - I would strongly suggest you sort out your own dirty-minded closet first!

How are people okay with exposing their kids to this kind of stuff? What a sick and twisted generation we live in.

A wonderful documentary of fun, happiness and understanding.
john-1826710 October 2019
This is a wonderful show that proves that, with an open and understand family, children can express who they are. This has nothing to do with sexuality, this is about identity. Some of the comments online about this show has made me feel very angry. There seems to be a "Christian" minority that are attacking these children and their families because of biblical scripture. Maybe these same "Christians" should read their bible more closely and look for all the parts about love and forgiveness rather than the TINY amount regarding homosexuality (remember, this documentary is NOT about sexuality). It doesn't matter if you agree or not, these children do not need your blessing, they merely need your understanding.

I wish all the families an amazing life and I hope they can inspire more families to listen to their children. <3

Brought tears to my eyes. I love these parents
lmsa508 July 2020
I think about kids like Gabriel Fernandez and how he was treated because he was a little more feminine than the parents thought he should be. The parents in this documentary are to be commended on their unconditional love and support of these kids. We need more of this and less hate

Heartwarming and Wholesome
coryandricks2 March 2024
I found myself moved and in tears several times during this film. Props to these kids' parents for giving their children a joyful and passionate outlet of artistic expression in spite of all of the hate and bigotry currently being perpetuated in society. One need not go any further than this review section for examples. The way I see it, people just try to offset their personal prejudices with sanctimonious moral posturing. Screaming buzzwords on a soapbox with a megaphone makes people feel they will be perceived as legitimate, but when there is a clear lack of understanding of and inability to logically discuss the issues at hand, the façade falls apart. What these people fail to understand is that gender expression has absolutely nothing to do with sex, so those of you who are chanting "sexualization!" with pitchforks and torches need to do some serious soul searching as to why you are looking at children innocently performing and thinking about sex. Anybody with half a brain can see this is because of implicit bias towards the LGBTQ community. You create a narrative of slurs and stereotypes because they don't adhere to your heteronormative social constructs, and you'll be damned before you will let them get away with that! As usual, these reactionaries either don't realize or don't care that history will not look back upon them favorably. Oh well. The world is changing with or without you, and these parents and children actually give me a little hope for the future. 10/10.
