Pirates is Great!

The newly finished Pirates Online game is literally to die for! I love it and I don't care if it costs $15 a month, I would still play it. The only thing that bothers me is that they don't let you do near as much stuff for free on Pirates Online as they would on Runescape. The ships and weapons are awesome for paying players and Disney will sometimes put free items for your character. Pirates Online offers many varieties of enemies to kill just like Runescape, Pirates also has "A+" graphics to further intense your playing. So if you are reading this and are looking for a good, solid online game, you should pick Pirates Online, it will make you happy.

Been sailing these seas and we still love it.

Over two and half years ago, I set up a Pirates Online account for me and my son.

We're still playing and now even his younger brothers play too. One of my pirate characters has grown to lead a sizable guild in the game in that time.

Initially, adventuring the world of Jack Sparrow and Will Turner is fairly involving and grabs your attention as you sail, fight and explore. Over time, your own pirate becomes fairly formidable and the dangers may decrease, but the social atmosphere keeps me sailing almost nightly. Girl pirates are just as numerous as guy pirates and the game does not discriminate in their abilities.

Parents, this is a Disney game and they make great effort to protect young ones. They are not allowed to give out numbers (like phone, address or email) and can report trouble quickly. Also, interaction can be limited by Parental Control. Older players like myself who are parents, also make great efforts to help young pirates stay safe and have a great time helping Captain Jack fight the villainous Jolly Roger and his undead army.

The game is NOT for hardcore players as the combat system is fairly simple, though new abilities and scores of new weapons have been added. Most teens who play World of Warcraft etc. may long for more hardened combat, but the game promotes teamwork by giving lots of incentive for working together as opposed to solo.

You can choose to follow the storyline, pursue separate quests, play mini games (fishing, poker, etc.) or just opening wander at sea or on land and plunder the enemies you meet.

Also, the games does NOT require a lot of resources on your computer or lengthy set up time. It installs off the web and you can play for FREE. Just beware that FREE is quite limited and it's only $10 a month for Unlimited or less for prepaid.
