Storyline

Reformed ex-con Al Baldwin is unpleasantly surprised when former cell-mates Tom Wright and Frank Jennings visit his rural garage and tell him of their plan to steal $12,000 in cash from the regular farm combine shipment. When Al refuses to help, Wright's wife Delle holds Al's wife Cathy at gunpoint while the robbery takes place. The money is taken as planned, but guard Sid Wells is murdered and Sergeant Walters quickly finds the abandoned truck. He and Dan Mathews investigate and deduce that the Baldwins are in trouble when the nervous Al introduces Tom Wright as his new "helper". They lure Wright away from the house and capture him, but find that they must utilize a high-risk ruse in order to get close enough to rescue the Baldwins and capture Delle Wright and Frank Jennings. Quotes

[first lines]
Narrator: A constant problem faced by the Highway Patrol is in the enforcement of law in the more desolate, rural regions, where the occasional communities are not large enough to require the services of full-time peace officers. It was in such a section, on the morning of the 18th of August, that the Highway Patrol encountered one of its most cold-blooded cases of murder.

Exciting old TV show

What a delight to Watch these épisodes - more than 156 - short, fast paced with lots of action, good characters, sharp directing, good stories; even if most of them seem similar. Thieves and murderers on rampage, innocents on the run because accused of murders they had not committed, lost children, hit and run cases, feuds among families...

But I will never be tired of Broderick "Machine gun talking" Crawford. What a wonderful actor.

I don't think this TV show was aired in France.

I would put in on the same scale as STATE TROOPER.

This episode made by the vet Lew Landers.
