Brown and Stokes investigate the death of a young man found hanging from a tree. They believe this to be a hate crime as the man had breasts and is believed to be a pre-operative transsexual. As the investigation continues however, they learn he worked at a local water treatment plant and may have been up to something else entirely. Sidle and Lake investigate when a skeleton is found at the construction site for a new hotel. The site was once the Rampart Hotel owned by Catherine Willows' father. Her mother provides valuable information on the case. Grissom and Sidle decide on their future.
