This is a very informative short film about smoking cessation. It is not a "shock film" with pictures of cancerous lungs but it manages to convey the information without these disgusting but real images. Instead, it's an educational film that feels like you are at a lecture by various stop-smoking professionals. Plus, while it acknowledges that the urges are great, people CAN and DO stop smoking.
As for me, I am not a smoker and I don't understand this. However, given that I am a high school teacher, this could be a useful tool, as teens are often quite stupid (with feelings of invincibility) and so smoking is super-attractive to them!
There were only two minor negatives for me (probably because I am not a New Yorker) about this film. First, the host, Fran, talks so incredibly fast. I just wish they'd told her to slow down, as her on-screen presence was lovely but she just seemed like she was rushing her lines. Also, the final speech by Dr. Rosen is way too loud--they need to correct that, as it blew me out of my chair!
