The Hypnotherapist is another funny episode of "Samantha Who?"
27 November 2007 | by (Baton Rouge, La.) – See all my reviews

As "The Hypnotherapist" begins, Samantha is at Todd's apartment alone trying to make a spaghetti sauce and heating a soup can in a microwave oven (at this point, Todd comes in and tells Samantha metal shouldn't be put in microwave as the can goes on fire). As Todd tastes the sauce, he asks if she put in oregano. As revealed at a hot spot where Sam is hanging with Dena and Andrea, Sam is allergic to oregano as we find out when she's talking funny during this time. Andrea mentions a hot guy she and Sam's previous self had met weeks ago and asks if she remembered his number. Sam has to remind her she has amnesia. Andrea remembers a hypnotherapist and recommends one to her. Though her parents disapprove, Sam sees one and remembers she was adopted...and craves cigarettes. She also remembers a locket, a bald man, and a dog. When she tells Frank the doorman about this, he remembers it as the plot of the musical "Annie". Sam suddenly remembers being the lead of that play. She also finds out Todd's apartment was actually hers pre-coma and she's no longer afraid of elevators...Another funny episode of "Samantha Who?" that has nice laughs and heart in all the right places. Especially loved the scene where Sam tries to light a cigarette by turning on a stove, putting a menu on fire, then gets scared at what she just did! Also loved Sam's reaction after Frank asked if she knew when the sun will come up: "Put a sock in it!" (or something like that) Glad this show is doing so well.
