Fighting Couple can't make this Funny

4/10

Nicole Hurley (Jennifer Aniston) is a reporter working on a cover up. She misses a court date from a fender bender with a cop. Milo Boyd (Gerard Butler) is her ex-husband bounty hunter. He jumps on the chance to catch her. When he catches up, it sets off a series of adventures.

Jennifer Aniston is loud and smart. Gerard Butler is loud and brash. They have some chemistry together because they're basically the same person. But their sparring doesn't quite translate into hilarity.

The bad guys and their caper lead them to a friend from their past. The goons aren't funny enough. And quite frankly, neither is the movie. This movie needs better joke writers than relying on the Bickersons to argue a comedy out of it.

Clever escapes should be clever, not ridiculous

4/10

The opening sequence was enough to tell you that you were in for a lazy, poorly thought out movie. IN the opening scene Gerard Butler is driving his car when suddenly smoke comes out of the trunk. He stops and opens the trunk lid and Jennifer Aniston jumps out holding a road flare. It turns out that Butler arrested Aniston and locked her in the trunk. In an effort to escape she found the road flare and ignited it. Really?

If you ever have the misfortune of being kidnapped and locked in a trunk and you happen to find a road flare, whatever you do, do not light the damn thing. Several things could have happened, all of them resulting in Aniston's death. If you are in a car trunk, one thing that you are in short supply of is air. Lighting a fire would quickly use up all of the air and she would suffocate. It would also get extremely hot, like 300 degrees or so. You would have baked Aniston. Finally, that vehicle, like nearly all cars has the gas tank next to the trunk compartment. The gas follows out towards the engine through rubber tubes. The flare would have probably melted these rubber tubes and flooded the trunk with gasoline. If she was lucky, she would have blown up which would have been so preferable to burning up alive or suffocating.

The point is that they filmmakers thought this little bit was clever and entertaining. But it had the opposite effect. Sort of like the entire movie. They though it was clever and cute, when it was dumb and not thought out. Don't feed us crap like this and act like you thought of something smart. It was incredibly done.

One more thought Jennifer Aniston acts exactly the same in every single movie. Why do they bother giving her a different name. It should be Rachel Green all the time.

Fast forward the talking and the rush

5/10

I had a high expectation on this movie but when I'm already watching it, i want to fast forward everything! It's full of running, shooting and dull moments between the two leading characters. Humor lines are not really funny. The plot is predictable: two couples got divorced then at the end fell in love again. I think Gerard Butler is not really for comedies. All throughout the film he has a strong facial expression not fit for a comedy film. Jennifer Aniston looks fine in the entire movie, she really portrayed well the character. I need to fast forward when Aniston and Butler are talking because the lines are predictable as i observed the development of the dialogue. I think Aniston saved the plot and Butler. I really like her as a comedian. So, I'm still giving it a 5.

The newswoman and the ex-cop

The worst sin a comedy can commit is not to be funny. That said, one wonders about the wisdom of the people behind this inane comedy that goes absolutely nowhere and produces hardly any laugh during its interminable 111 minutes running time. What's more, the stars most have taken the production to the cleaners after they were paid for their services. One doubts about recouping what was invested in the movie.

Andy Tennant, the director of this film, does not show much inspiration in the way he has staged the comedy. It might have looked better in the written page, obviously, but Sarah Thorp's screenplay did not appear to have been so great, after all. One wonders if this was a vehicle for Jennifer Aniston, or her co-star Gerard Butler. They do not exactly show much chemistry in their scenes together, something that might has to do with being bored by the whole experience.

In this comical romantic action movie, stars Jennifer Anniston as Nicole Hurley the reporter and Gerard Butler as Milo Boyd the fired police man turned bounty hunter, are on an warrant seeking bounty hunting crime scene investigating journey that rekindles there lost love as these two travel across New Jersey and New York running from each other with each other. Milo is running from his heart broken love with Nicole by turning that emotion into a rage to get even with her after she broke his heart. Nicole is running from this new bounty hunter because she still loves him, has a warrant for her arrest, and is investigating the biggest story of her life.

Mean while Milo isn't as clean as he is portrayed. Nicole soon finds out he has a gambling debt and try's to play his competitive side by telling him he has lost his gambling touch in hopes of slipping out of his grasps. Milo didn't win the money and wasn't going to release Nicole anyways, he soon finds out his ex is more stunning than he could have ever imagined. The police suicide she is investigating has the crooked cops chasing her as is the bookies chasing Milo throughout this comical romantic action movie.

After waking up from being stunned by Nicole's stun gun Milo chases her down after she stole a bicycle cart. Nicole breaks down after seeing a sign for the Cupids cabins where the spent there honey moon and the two go about their way back to New York City so Milo can turn her in and reap his benefit and get back at Nicole.

After speaking with a close friend of theirs they decide to stop off at the cabins where they met to stay safe from both of their armed chasers. Cupids cabin is where they rekindle their love , that's where the first spark fly's, but to no one's surprise since they never see eye to eye a misunderstood conversation leads to Nicole handcuffing Milo to the bed as she leaves in his car to seek answers on the biggest story of her career.

Milo acts as a bell hop and steals the next couple's car that's entering cupid's cabin. Milo soon catches up with Nicole as she is caught in his car and is held for ransom by Milo's bookies. Milo saves her from his bookies and there on their way to solve the biggest case of Nicole's career then to turn Nicole in but she doesn't know that. The Motif presented throughout the film was that these two hate each other; no matter how hard they try they can't fool me. The musical emphasis issued throughout the film is kind soft and loving so to tell me they weren't going to possibly end up together would have ruined the romance.

These two working together throughout the film make for a funny and sometimes romantic action movie not to the tune of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Angelina Julie and Brad Pitt but a little funnier with less action. Gerard Butler sticks much to the same ugly humor in this as he did in The Ugly Truth but never the less it worked with me once again. Jennifer Anniston played the same attractive smart successful woman as she did in The Breakup with Vince Vaughn. Neither one of these stars seemed to break out of their shells but I wouldn't either had it landed me the same success it has landed them in yet another good flick.

A bounty hunter named Milo decides to chase after his wanted wife Nicole. The couple goes through an adventure as the pursuit continues.

The Bounty Hunter was a very interesting movie. It told the story of a husband and ex-wife going through a couple of hectic days together. The ex-wife, Nicole, was played by Jennifer Aniston. Gerard Butler played her husband, Milo Boyd. In the film Nicole was wanted for skipping a court hearing. As a reporter she chose to follow a story instead of going to court. Milo is a bounty hunter for a living. He is very excited when he finds out there is a warrant for his ex-wife. Milo decides to find Nicole and arrest her.

Once Milo finds Nicole he throws her in the back of a trunk. Throughout the movie the couple are continuously fighting with each other and Nicole is trying to escape. Finally, Nicole gives up on escaping and convinces Milo to wait to take her in. The story Nicole was following as a reporter ends up getting them in trouble and Milo has to work with her to figure out what is going on. The couple ends up rekindling their flame by the end of the movie. The theme of the film is everything happens for a reason.

In this movie several circumstances make it possible for Nicole and Milo to reconnect. Each of these circumstances also leads to another event in the film. Without Nicole getting the warrant out for her arrest, Milo would have never chased her. Therefore, they never would have gotten the opportunity to fix their relationship. This movie showed that although some things seem bad at first they happen for a reason.

This film also showed great techniques. Angling was used in several scenes to make the audience feel the emotions the characters were going through. For example in one scene Nicole was running from Milo through the horse track. The angles used allowed us to see Nicole's perspective. We thought she was getting away and then Milo would show up. This made the scene very suspenseful. We wanted to know if Nicole would get away.

Another technique used in the movie was lighting. When Nicole's coworker was mistaken for Milo and kidnapped, he was kept in a very dull lit room. This lighting allowed the audience to know the people that had him were not going to be nice. It said the mood and made it easier to detect that gangsters had kidnapped him. Another scene included Nicole and Milo dancing on the balcony. The lighting made the scene seem very romantic and it was a calming point of the movie.

This movie was very similar to Cinderella. The two main characters had circumstances that pulled them apart, but then they were brought back together. This movie allowed audiences to see that anything can happen and that everything truly happens for a reason. One event can change the outcome of everything. This was an amazing movie.

Good, but nothing spectacular

7/10

Recap: Nicole is a busy journalist making a career at a big newspaper. And now, when she got a lead on a case with a mysterious death she is so busy that she misses her own court appointment, and her bail is revoked. That leads to her being hunted by Milo, a disgraced cop turned bounty hunter in need of cash. Actually, his bookies goons are out to get him already. So the 5000 dollar reward looks really nice, but what's really tempting is that he now got the chance to bring his ex-wife to jail. Oh, yeah, Nicole and Milo used to be married and it didn't end nice. So you bet there going to be trouble when they catch up.

Comments: I liked this one. A rather classic, "safe" relation/action comedy about two headstrong people that always seem to be fighting but end up finding one another. Safe meaning that this is nothing new, but it works well. And Bounty Hunter works really well. It got a good tempo, it is fun and entertaining to watch and about everything you could ask for.

That being said, safe also means it doesn't aspire to any new heights of movie experience. Aniston and Butler does their roles well, but they don't have any real chemistry as a couple. There are no sparks, those that are impossible to script but gives the movie that little extra. And there are no exceptional supporting character that throws in a gem now and then, everything is very focused on them as a couple. The subplots, with their personal respective problems does give some extra spice to the story though.

At the end credits a thought occurred to me. What if their roles had been reversed? Butler as a career minded journalist and Aniston as the tough bounty hunter? Probably to provocative gender based, and certainly not a safe bet. But handled well and with success it might have given this already good comedy an extra edge.

This is perfect for an evening with family or friends. A safe bet that everyone will enjoy. Simply a good, entertaining comedy, but with nothing extra.

To tell you the sad truth, I kind of liked it.

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler play ex-lovers in heat in the predictable but yet somewhat fun film, The Bounty hunter. When I saw the trailer for this film, I wanted to hate it. Not because of Jennifer Aniston but because of Gerard Bulter. But as it turns out, both actors kind of, surprisingly, won me over.

Butler plays Milo, a bounty hunter who is all over his next assignment:Pick up his ex wife(Jennifer Aniston) and take her to jail. But along the way, he realizes that whatever crime she committed(can't remember it), she is innocent. And they begin to fall for each other.

The Bounty hunter is your typical lovers in heat action romantic comedy. It's not as good as Knight and day but it makes up for the atrocious Killers.I actually laughed during this film, which really surprised me. Aniston is funny and cute,as always, and Butler really surprised me.

He plays your typical a-hole ex husband. But he's actually kind of likable, and less annoying. Which is the opposite of his performance in The ugly truth. The Bounty hunter is at least remotely enjoyable and sort of funny, unlike that movie.

The bounty hunter made me laugh here and there and I was kind of entertained. And the two actors are likable. I wish Aniston could find something different. Not a romantic comedy. She hasn't done a good movie in a while, besides Marley & me. Which is a shame. Because she's so likable. I wish she could star in something like Rock star or The Good girl. But for now, you're just going to have to deal with The Bounty hunter.

Highly contrived rom-com that has a few entertaining moments.

Last night we had a house full, for barbecue and birthday cake. If I counted correctly, 9 of us. In a sense this was the perfect movie for the evening because you didn't have to think too hard, you can get up to check the unexpected thunderstorm or take a phone call, and not miss to much. Plus it is one of those where one character explains everything to another at the end, just in case you missed anything.

Gerard Butler is Milo Boyd, bounty hunter, mostly sent by the bail bondsman to find those who have skipped bail. Milo is an ex-cop, and he claims he can be one again if he wants, but seems to be always operating on the financial edge, and often the wrong side of the edge.

As luck would have it (or maybe contrived script writing) his recent ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston as Nicole Hurley, is hot on a story that she believes will expose corruption in law enforcement and fails to show for her court date after being charged with striking an officer, actually the officer's horse with her car, in a rush to get around traffic. So Milo is hired to get her back and into jail, and collect $5,000 for his efforts (10% of the $50K bond).

So, with that basic premise, in and around New York and Atlantic City, Milo and Nicole play out this game to see if (1) he can take her in or (2) she can get the best of him and get back to her story. They weren't married long, and part of the story is for each of them to realize that perhaps it was a mistake for them to break up and end their marriage.

The corruption in law enforcement is just there to give the plot some additional meat and allow them to get to the point where they can foil the bad guys together.

The most fun in the whole movie was Christine Baranski as Atlantic City stage entertainer, Kitty Hurley. She happens to be Nicole's mother and as only Baransky can plays the role with great comedic timing and delivery.

Nothing more than average here. The basic romantic-comedy with two big name actors that can bring an audience in purely because of name. Aniston is looking cute and tight at her age and Butler is looking fit besides for his soon to be turkey neck. Story line is quite boring and characters besides for Aniston and Butler have little description or background. It would have been nice to see characters such as Butlers old police 'kiss ass' to get more attention. A few cheap laughs here and there but overall a very average movie. If anyone is looking for an even more boring movie similar to this one, "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" is calling for you.
